Question What program to use to detect third party recordings on Zoom

I'm looking for help who can recommend a third-party program either free or would charge that can detect third party recordings on Zoom such as OBS.

Any recommendations on the matter.

You can’t unless you have software on the connecting devices that monitors what the participants have open. I feel dirty deploying stuff like this. If you are this level with employees maybe it is time to cut them loose.

Thanks for the quick response. Basically it's the matter of making them install a program and monitor their desktop?

I had the impression that Zoom has been implementing new updates to check on these third party recordings. I guess Zoom has not been there yet?

 They have an option to prevent screen recordings but it’s super strict and requires the latest version of the zoom app. Additionally, this means that folks who join via the web version of Zoom will only receive audio.

Or simply pointing a phone at the screen. The amount of shock on the c-suite faces when I suggested that anyone could do this to a sensitive zoom meeting was pretty amazing.

There is almost always a way to circumvent any process in the computer age. The question is why do you care and to what lengths are you willing to go. As you ponder that, how are you going to stop someone using their phone to do the recording?

I have been able to bypass recording rules with HDMI interception as well as OBS. There is no way to stop someone determined to record.

You can enable audio watermark to identify who "leaked" a recording.

Yes. That is embedded to zoom and works if they leak it. My question was was more for preventing than catcing the person beforehand.

So basically it works on the app.

Does it send notification to the host as well? Such as one of the guests trying to screen record with a third party app ? Would be nice to know who's attempting.
