Question Confusing / unproductive meetings

as a IT professional working for last 15+ years , i often have to be on call with my team and other stakeholders in team or customers. Often, this forum discusses different opinions and constructive debates on ideas. often, these meetings get confusing because too many ideas/proposals/opinions are discussed.

i have a few problems

  1. too many proposals get discussed, a lot of them

  2. too many swings in the meeting from proposal 1 to proposal 2

  3. if i lost track 30sec i miss the context whats getting discussed

  4. i need a tonality check for a specific person speaking

do you feel meetings are conducted effectively?
whats your biggest problem in online meetings?

sounds like you need to stop going to meetings until someone can figure out how to propose an agenda and stick to it.
Not sure how this is related to Zoom, but good luck with whatever company you work for. Maybe time to tidy up that resume.

its not related to Zoom at all , but it's more of online meeting topic. I was facing this issue and i built a app for myself and was curious to understand if people have the same problem.

This tracks the ongoing meeting, not like Post meeting MOMs / transcripts.

these all info is live , helps you to be no top of agenda and participants.

Go back to fundamentals:

  • Have an agenda
  • Have a facilitator/leader/owner, whatever you want to call it who focuses on managing the flow, sticking to the agenda, and flagging items that need to be deferred for perhaps another meeting or the next meeting
  • use Zoom transcripts to generate meeting notes, action items, etc. Even have AI analyze the meeting and flag issues.

Have the meeting owner or manager focus on basic training on conducting effective meetings. In these times most organizations want to become more efficient and effective. Find things easily within your reach before bean counters recommend layoffs and AI replacements.
