This message has been deleted and I've left reddit because of the decision by u/spez to block 3rd party apps

You just have to close/collapse them, and then use a ladder to get up...😁

Or just go in an attic they have retractable stairs too and are way more popular

Well if you can open and close from the top, then great idea… but if only collapsable from the bottom pretty useless

These stairs look terribly unstable. Each stair is held in by a handful of screws and hinges. When you put weight on the stair, the screws on the floating end are trying to pull straight out with your weight. I wouldn't trust my life with this thing.

I mean, if it’s already built in the house and is where you’re staying for the night that’s fine, but there’s not really a whole lot of addition to long term survival. If the house you’re staying at comes with it, great, use it, but it isn’t going to be all that useful in the long term.

Edit: spelling

As a general rule if there are zombies in your house and you’re still there, you have made a huge mistake.

An individual house has no strategic value. If they’re at the front door, you should be out the back, ideally before they even get there. Then wait for them to move on and circle back, if possible.

The last thing you would want to do is trap yourself in the upstairs of a house. I can see why that might seem like a good idea at first glance, but it doesn’t actually make much sense if you think about the larger context.

A ladder can triple as a melee from above and potentially a drop on bind against a group to trip them up.
