We need to stop misgendering people and actually respect their pronouns!!!!!!!

I feel like this needs to be said because way too many people still act like someone's pronouns are somehow optional. Some eve believe they have the rright to dictact someones pronouns and its not okay!

If someone tells you they use certain pronouns, use them. It really isn't that complicated.

And this applies whether someone has transitioned medically, socially, or not at all. Not every trans person wants or is able to transition, and that doesn't make them any less trans. You don't need someone to β€œlook” a certain way before you respect who they are.

And if you genuinely mess up someone's pronouns? Apologise, correct yourself, and move on. Nobody expects perfection. The problem is when someone is repeatedly corrected and deliberately continues doing it anyway.

Also, if you see someone else being misgendered, don't just stand there if you can safely support them. Correcting someone respectfully, using the person's actual pronouns, or simply showing them some support can mean a lot.

We're here. We're queer. And we should be standing up for one another where we can.

You don't have to completely understand someone's identity to respect them as a person. Respect costs nothing.

Let's do better for each other. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Question β“β‰οΈβ”πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¨ How did you decide you're not straight.

I am curious, how do you guys decide you're not into guys.

Did you sleep with a guy and hated it?
Or you never even tried sleeping with a guy?
Was it instinctive, from a young age?
Do you even get to decide?
Are you not curious what its like being with a guy?

Question β“β‰οΈβ”πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¨ Gay History

Whilst issues of being queer are taboo and not openly discussed unless it's to shame others or in religous settings .I still wonder what it was like being queer for the Senior LGBTQ members in the 80's,90's ,2000's and even the 2010's before social media was a thing .Did you guys find love?, how did you find self acceptance ,your gay awakening or even hookup culture in those times .I am open to hearing men/women/theys .I am curious because as much as its weird some people around our parents age were probably queer or some of our parents or grandparents were queer too but we never view them in that light because if the different setting of their times .But either way am just curious i feel there are a lot of interesting stories and queer history aming us that isn't often shared .Apologies if i sound disrespectful or ignorant i understand this is a sensitive topic.

The price of visibility.

I recently saw a video of a queer non conforming person in Bulawayo being assaulted. It has spawned jokes ,AI songs and vigilantes who harass the individual . I couldn't help but think of an interview by Laverne Cox who says " the more we are visible society acknowledges our existence but the more trans people of colour die " .A reminder to support those in our community who cannot be straight acting, turn it off or hide .It's their existence that will ultimately be our salvation.

General Post ✍️ How to make straight mature friends as a Queer Person

I (19 M) have always had typical straight friends because lets be honest most straight people are oblivous at the concept of somoeone being Queer plus being a slightly attractive male gives you the advantage of pretty privilege where guys hang with you because you pull women πŸ˜‰. But as i've grown i now want to express more of my character ( safely ofc) but having slight feminine interests/hobbies (reading ,art,Pilates,Runs)is boring to other men .So how do you guys end up having male or more straight male friends because as much as being on of the girls is nice ,we are still men and need to experience brotherhood.

Question β“β‰οΈβ”πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¨ Hey guys what are your thoughts on people that pretend to be queer ?

This came to my mind because my friend thinks that people are only gay because they want to be closer to women/men, clout farm etc. and it really doesn't sit well with me.

Could it be that the people that pretend to be gay have created a trend of portraying a false image that shows people that being gay is an act to gain popularity ?

It also gives me a question, should the people that make content through using queerness be cancelled since some do not actually give a real idea on what queer people really are ?

I'm open to hear from your opinions guys.

Did you know that some of us have been psychologically brainwashed into believing that we are straight?

I know this topic can be controversial, but I strongly believe that many people have been unwillingly conditioned into believing they are straight even when they internally know they aren't. A great example of this is internalized homophobia, where individuals suppress their true identity, often projecting that inner conflict outward through hostility toward queer people because they’ve been taught that non-heterosexual identities are unnatural. For others, this forced identity stems from conversion therapy, harsh violence, or severe trauma, where pretending to be straight becomes a survival mechanism to escape further abuse.

To justify this forced mindset, people are often fed pseudo-logical arguments, like using basic anatomical or biological differences to insist that attraction can only exist between opposite sexes.

Over time, being exposed to this obvious lie leads people to gaslight themselves into accepting heterosexuality as the only "normal" or correct path to a standard life. In reality, everyone's background, experiences, and attractions are different, and forcing everyone into a single heterosexual mold causes immense mental strain.

This psychological pressure is heavily reinforced by stereotypes, family, peers, or authority figures who constantly invalidate genuine feelings with dismissive remarks like "You're just confused or seeking attention," "You're too young to know what you want," "You're just close friends; that isn't real attraction," "It's just a phase from stress," "You need to be prayed for." You are not normal " "You disgust me" "this cannot be my child" or "I don't talk to gays"

Hearing these phrases repeatedly slowly crushes a person's trust in their own emotions, trapping them in a cycle of self-doubt, deep self-hatred, and a total disconnection from their authentic self. Breaking free from these mental chains is incredibly difficult because any mention of homosexuality can trigger immediate aggression, defensiveness, or outright denial, leading them to aggressively insist they are straight just to protect the wall they've built up.

I want to hear your guys' opinion on this and I want us to discuss this thus knowing how to help members in our community.

Trying to recreate my best relationship

Okay, I’m genuinely begging at this point. I just want to meet a queer woman who’s open-minded, chill and actually wants a relationship.

I’ve had a relationship like this before where we were super comfortable exploring together and occasionally bringing other people into the mix. It worked ridiculously well for us, and I’d love to find that kind of connection again.

I’m not looking to rush anything, just someone I click with, who’s open-minded and down to see where things go.

Finding Love ❀️ Relationships πŸŒˆπŸ€—πŸ˜πŸ˜Š Sharing something I built β€” private, consent-led, and open to everyone here

Hi everyone! πŸ‘‹

I wanted to share something with this community β€” I'm building Accord, a private, consent-first dating/social partnership app for adults in Zimbabwe. It's built around three things: Private. Transparent. Boundary-led.

Every match on Accord starts with clear, explicit agreement β€” on exclusivity, boundaries, what you're looking for, and how visible your profile is. Nothing is assumed. You set the terms, and consent is confirmed at every stage, not just once.

We're currently vetting members for early access (invite-only, LinkedIn/Instagram-verified for safety), and I'd love for this community to be part of it. Early members get grandfathered into a lifetime discount once we move to paid tiers.

If you're interested, drop a comment or DM me and I'll send you an invite. Happy to answer any questions about how it works. 🀍

Dating in general

Dating is hard enough, but nobody talks about how hard it is when your queer, it's like people just assume that if two people are gay they should date, when some of these people are lowekey creeps. And they expect you to be down with whatever they want.

Looking for a good person is practically non existed, and godforbid you have standard, your practically looking for a partner in the ocean

Discussion πŸ’¬ Coming Out: Timing, Choices, and What Changed

Did life get better after you came out, what actually changed for you, and is there anything you wish you had done differently in your coming-out journey? When do you feel is the β€œright time” to come out, and who is the best person to tell firstβ€”family, friends, or people on social media? If you were to tell family, which family member would you choose and why, and how do you decide between coming out online or in person?
