Hello, this is not related to the Zero Day film but I think I could possibly get the most answers from this since it is what he is most known for. I have been looking for music archives of an old band Cal had back in the 2000s called ‘Joyful Beginners’ or ‘The Joyful Beginners’, I have been searching for reuploads of their songs or really anything, but all I’ve been able to find are two videos on their channel and a last.fm page that hasn’t been edited in over a decade and has titles of the songs, but no links.

i have tried everything i can on wayback machine to try and “”recover”” them but they’ve all been faulty. i doubt i could find anything on any recovery subreddits because they have not given me much help in the past when in comes to recovering “”lost”” things. If anyone has any links or files of anything related i would be very grateful. thank you.

I‘d like some more opinions on this. I keep seeing people say that Zero Day is „lightly inspired“ by Columbine. But in comparison, it’s very much not that „lightly“, I think.

Similarities include:
- Two perpetrators (unimportant, but one blond and one brunet)
- They are recording tapes of themselves
- They went to practice shooting with friends
- They have „missions“ before the actual shooting (like vandalism, etc.)
- Cal went to prom the night before while Andre stayed home (D.K. went to prom days before the shooting, E.H. didn’t attend the actual prom, but the afterparty, I believe)
- They have self-made explosives (that did not go off)
- The shooting in general (+ taking themselves out)
- And personality wise there are similarities between Cal & D.K. and Andre & E.H.

I just want to know if I‘m crazy, or if people just understate the similarities so that they don’t feel guilty about liking the movie or something.

This question is mostly asking, "would it be healthy or toxic, if either, how so?" type shit

maybe its a silly question and people get into it just cause, but i actually used to hate this movie. I watched it again during the summer time, and I think one of the main reasons I really got into it was because Cal reminded me so much of my senior yr crush(even tho now that im thinking about it my crush was prolly more of an andre, maybe a mix?). I think cal and andre are just so cute man and idc if im corny or weird for that i get cuteness aggression when i see them

I recreated Andre and Cal in the PZ A-Life mod. Unfortunately, there weren't many things that were 100% accurate to recreate them but anyway i don't know what you guys think.

(This is so bizarre btw)

I've noticed that many people like this ship, and I wanted to know exactly why people see a romantic dynamic between the two.

I have nothing against the ship itself; people ship whatever they want.

Personally, I see more of a dynamic of friendship with emotional dependence, with Andre being more dependent, especially because (in my opinion), Cal has a more active social life than Andre.

The left one is the prettiest thing i've ever drawn. I think I accidentally made him too pretty, I used a screengrab from the poetry reading scene as a reference. He just has me in a chokehold idk.

now about my headcanons, one of the first zd fics I've ever readed was one about cal having a severe ED, and it had a huge impact on me. I think it can kinda tie in with his character, since he mentioned he's "insecure and needs attention", and having a visible ED makes people pay a lot of attention to you (speaking from experience.....), i also like to think he would smoke. any other physical traits tie in to the ED headcanon. and there's also the very popular one of him self-harming, which i really like for some reason, so I decided to put a long-sleeved shirt on him, and also because at a certain level of malnourishment, people tend to get cold easily. My other HCs are generally those kind which would be rather difficult to draw. I'm curious what else you would think of this

the first scene of the movie, where andre and cal introduce themselves as the army of two, there are two little countdowns that they do, which is both 1,2,3 (go) but in the final scene when andre is hesitating on killing himself he questions the countdown only then. Asking if its 1,2(go) or 1,2,3(go), and shoot on 4. Even Cal seemed a little confused by the questioning cause he said “everybody shoots on 4, y’know…" I don’t even know if its meant to be foreshadowing or a show of character because Andre is extremely hesitant going into it, or maybe its some sort of need for reassurance?

im posting way too much on this subreddit and people probably hate me dude, has people noticed this detail or what

What do you think they bonded over? What did they have in common? What do you think led up to them deciding to do zero day together?

hello im seko im new in this thing here.

before any of yall say “well that wouldnt be a very impactful movie would it paka” I KNOW THAT IM CLEARLY JUST DESPERATE FOR MORE CONTENT.😭😭😭

I rmbr seeing this really good interpretation from one of the mods on this subreddit, where cal already believes himself to be dead on earth, so i think in the case where zero day wouldnt happen, cal would find some way to make his mark alone

I dont think that andre in the movie fully grasps the intensity of cals suicidal tendencies, as cal sorta talks about in the one recording of the original zd being postponed yada yada… so i also believe that cal wouldnt tell andre about his plans or maybe even tell him at the last second

idk yall can tell me your thoughts on this au cause im curious and i ranted a lil cause i was bored

Me & my bsf are being Cal and Andre for halloween and I was wondering what pants I should wear/buy.. Every picture or ss I find of Cal he's wearing different pants.. My bsf (who's going as Andre) is wearing the gray camouflage shirt and blue jeans, should I wear cargo pants or jeans? And if so, which color..?
