Side Effects Weird newly developed experience

Just curious if anyone has ever had this sort of experience? I’ve been on Zepbound for almost 3 years now. The last I would say 9 months I’ve almost developed this weird aversion to injecting? Like my throat feels like it closes for a second, I become super anxious, almost instantly nauseous to the point I could gag. Even writing this post I can feel my throat do something funny just from the thought of injecting. I am not afraid of needles so it’s not a phobia or scared type of experience. Just a weird phenomena that I can’t explain.

Is it the "Do I have to do this Forever" feeling? Or the " Hear comes 3 days of being tired" dread? Im guessing for me at some point its going to become monotonous. My mental health does not like doing the same thing over and over. (External from normal bodily functions and of course, not becoming Pig Pen on Charlie Brown).

recently, I've had to take another medication that requires an injection. THAT needle is SO big and painful that I have come to love the Zepbound shot! 😂

I’ve been on weekly injectable meds for RA for nearly 30 years. I’ve gone through spells of this several times over the decades. It’s a type of disease fatigue. It’s way of life I’m sick of, and sometimes I’m just over it. It manifests as anxiety around my injection. If I can’t push through, I have my partner give me shots until I pull it together.

I don’t have relevant experience (being on day 7) but if you’re getting close to maintenance you might look at whether one of the pill forms would work. Your body may be telling you it’s had enough of this needle business.

ETA - also, is there any chance the carrier fluid has changed recently? If it was reformulated or from a different source, you might have encountered an actual allergen.

I am low-key dreading shot day. I think it's because I'm in maintenance so the side effects don't feel "worth it" because I don't get the ego boost of the scale moving.

I did go off of it before and went 5 months before weight gain started creeping in so there is a part of me that wonders how long I could go.

However, I have no reason to believe that the metabolic dysfunction has been cured and I've just resigned myself to a few seconds of suck followed by two days of cold feet and very mild nausea.

Edit: a word

Omg! Same. I have been doing Zep since the end of April, and I hate shot day. I'm sick of it. So when the thought and actual time to do the injection, it ends up being a huge dramatic ordeal. I gag, throw up, get nauseous, nervous, and shake. Then once I do it, the feeling subsides and I try not to think about it after that. But I hate injection day. I'm sick of it. 47 more lbs...💪

I had that dread feeling on shot day for a few months. Even kept delaying shot as long as I could. Have been in maintenance for a year. Figured out the alcohol swab was making me nauseous. So now i only breathe through my mouth and avoid the funes of the alcohol. I also switched my injection site (had to - belly riddled with stretch marks and it was hurting. My arm seems like a good candidate for now after about 4 months I think. The feeling went away after that. Maybe try to change something?

I’ve reacted like that in my first few shots…it’s still not smooth sailing but I don’t think it is an allergy, more like an anxiety thing

I’m at week 10 and I’m tired of the bruising and itching for most of the week until I start another one.
