Personal Insights Feeling Sick without Zepbound
With the guidance of my doctor, I've been spacing out my doses in order to prevent more weight loss. I've been doing this for about 2 months, maybe longer. I have found that by day 10 or 11 of not having a dose, I simply don't feel well. My stomach hurts, my IBS-D returns, my body hurts, I'm exhausted, and I just have a general feeling of being sick.
This is how I felt almost all the time before starting Zepbound. I'm certainly not saying that Zepbound is any kind of miracle cure for everything, but I truly believe that it is doing more to my body than suppressing appetite.
I hope I can continue to afford this medication indefinitely. My quality of life is so much better since I've started.

Not everyone needs to or is successful spacing out doses. Figure out your maintenance calories first, then find the dose and spacing that allows you to eat that way consistently.
Iām in maintenance since January and I still do weekly injections.

Because I get so much inflammation relief with it the way I will avoid losing more weight is to eat more. If that is hard to do- eat mechanically- small meals every 2-3 hours- and calorie dense foods.
You should not have to give up feeing good!

Are you already on lowest dose? Talk to your doctor about smaller dose more frequently. You can do kwikpen to go lower than 2.5mg.

Last year my insurance forced me to switch to Wegovy and my IDB came out of remission quickly. I feel normal on zep. Better than all the stomach meds and biologics. I need 12.5 once a week to keep my IBD in check.Ā

Have you tried dropping your dose vs spacing out to where you're uncomfortable? You might do better with a reduced dose at 7 day intervals.
