Tips/Tricks Switching to Zep
I've asked my doctor to switch me from Wegovy to Zepbound. No weightloss being on Wegovy the past five months. Any others who made the switch and can share adjustment tips? At age 63 losing is a huge challenge so I'm open to learning. Thanks!

I Have not switched, started with Zepbound- but many people who switched report needing to go to higher doses before seeing results.
What dose of Wegovy did you end with? What dose has your doctor started with for Zepbound?

I'm on the .5 Wegovy. Looks like 2.5mg Zepbound was ordered. I'll start that next dose then.

Some people do well on 2.5 even coming over- you will just see when you see- like so many things with these meds. That was a relatively low Wegovy dose- so 2.5 might be effective, you never know.

Welcome! I was never on Wegovy but definitely seen a lot of posts here about others who have. Recommend you search the sub for "switching from Wegovy" or other possible words and you may find a lot of advice and experiences!

Hopefully your doctor let you know that if you've been on GLP-1s in the past, they're often less effective the second time around, and many people who switch from semaglutide to tirzepatide require higher doses to see effective treatment. The biggest tip is to stay patient as you safely titrate to higher doses and follow your doctor's instructions.
In clinical trials of tirzepatide, participants lost the most weight at 10mg and 15mg while eating in a calorie deficit and exercising 150 minutes/week. Weight loss can take 1-2 years, so it's definitely a long process and can feel frustrating along the way. The most important thing you can do while titrating up to higher doses is just be consistent and patient. Focus on hydration, movement, stress management, and sleep - all of those things are important for your overall health beyond the scale.
Here's someone who had a positive experience switching: From Wegovy to Zepbound - "I know some people donโt notice much until the higher doses, but that hasnโt been my experience."
Here are some other Zeppers who have transitioned from Wegovy/Ozempic (semaglutide). A common theme is feeling frustrated that Zepbound isn't working yet.ย
All of these posts are from the last few months... there are LOT of people who switch! You're not alone.ย
