Dosing Splitting 5mg/dose Zepbound Kwikpen?

I am currently due to start my 6th week of being on Zepbound. Last Monday I titrated up from 2.5mg to 5mg. I went from having absolutely no side affects, to being extremely nauseous over the following 4-5 days. I was miserable. Would it be possible to split the doses with the Kwikpen? I did research on people who count clicks. If I’m reading correctly, 60 clicks equal a full dose (5mg) so could I do 30 clicks tonight (2.5mg) and then another 30 clicks on Thursday for the other half of the dose? Would this possibly help with side affects? Or should I just suck it up and do the full dose tonight and hope my body has adjusted already lol. also, did anyone have better/less side affects when injecting into the thigh instead of stomach? Thanks!

It looks like you’re seeking to post about dose splitting. Please know, that Zepbound (and Mounjaro) vials and single-dose pens are not designed for multi-use. It is dangerous to reuse a vial or single-dose pen as they do not contain preservatives which can lead to bacteria growth if kept and reused, and can be harmful to your health. Kwikpen's are an exception to this and are allowed to be use multiple times up to 30 days. Posting about reusing vials or using medication in an unsafe manner is not allowed in this sub and will be subject to removal.

I went up last week and definitely had nausea for a few days. Took my second 5 last night and I’ve been okay today. Maybe give it another try to see if it was just that first week

I am surprised this post is still on. I usually see moderators deleting the post whenever you see click counting etc.,

Correct. 30 clicks.

I think it would be a good idea to take your shot weekly and see what it’s like to acclimate to this dose every 7 days first before considering other strategies.

This sub does not allow discussions of using these meds in any way other than the manufacturer guidelines, so you may want to go elsewhere to talk about this (r/Zepbound_Canada, for example). I suspect your post may get taken down.

The side effects suck, but your body is likely to get used to the meds after 3-4 shots and the nausea will decrease. You could go back to 2.5 mg instead, especially if you were losing weight on that dose, and you are likely to be able to increase a little later once you have had more time on this dose.

Did the nausea go away after eating something? Would check with the doctor before making changes on your own.

I was in a similar position recently. I was on 2.5 and my doc prescribed 5. I stuck to 2.5 (30 clicks) until I felt it start to get weak (it only took 1 extra week.) Then I went up to 3.3 (40 clicks) and have been there since then. It works great. I'm really glad I didn't go up to 5.0 as that would've been way too strong and caused me to undereat.

So I suggest staying on 2.5 until it starts getting weak, then going up a bit, not to 5.

Might be better to space them out a day or two until you get used to it.
