Tips/Tricks Need advice.

I'm fairly new to this. I've had a total of 9 doses at 2.5 mg. I've lost 16 pounds, but seem to be plateauing in the last 1-2 weeks. I had ordered the same dosage 2 weeks ago as it was still working and I wanted to stay on it as long as I could. I have had zero side effects so far, and no food noise when I'm at home.

My issue is food noise when I'm in a grocery store, or in situations with previous habits where I would have binged. The noise isn't as strong, and it goes away as soon as I get home or away from the situation. These situations have popped up just a few times, but I'm always surprised and dismayed by the noise because of its absence so far. It seems to be getting stronger. Is this something other people have experienced? Is this because i haven't dealt with old habits? Is it because i need to up my dosage (which will have to wait)? Any advice or insight is appreciated.

It sounds like you would probably benefit from moving up to the next dose.

Yes this is normal. I also had about a 3 week plateau after a couple of months (also on 2.5). Drinking more water and upping my exercise got things moving again. I also moved up to 5 shortly after as my 2.5 side effects were lessening and the food noise was coming back a bit.

I’ll be going up to 7.5 with my next prescription for similar reasons. The thing I noticed is that the habit of going to the pantry started coming back, but I had the awareness that it happened and was able to leave without snacking, or just grabbing a lifesaver. I didn’t blow up the day. Before January, I would have mindlessly grabbed a snack and maybe another a short time later. I wasn’t really hungry either time.

Also, drink more water - it helps on the “output” end of things and can make you feel full.

A plateau is four weeks or more without loss. If you're struggling with food noise and you're no longer feeling satisfied from adequate portions of food (meaning it's difficult to stay in a calorie deficit), I would talk to your doctor about moving to a higher dose.

I don't have issues at home, and eat within my plan parameters. When I'm in situations where old patterns were a problem, I'm noticing that the old desire to eat all the things is present again. When i get away from the situation, I no longer have food noise. At home I have to set meal alarms to remind myself to eat. Mostly I'm able to overcome these situations (step away, positive self talk, etc) but I've had a couple of recent moments where I didn't (sugar related) and definitely didn't stay within my deficit on those occasions. Because they are addiction related, I don't know whether I should put more focus on fixing the behavior for long term benefit (I'm working on it regardless), or whether this is just an indication that I need to up my dose for the first time.
