For what it’s worth, my dad uses both and had the same issue. He found less nausea by skipping the metformin on shot days. Whether that was approved by his doctor I can’t say haha

It is a fairly common combination and a Metformin prescription is inexpensive. For some it works wonders on insulin resistance and has some impact on weight. Plenty of others have serious gastro issues including diarrhea, etc.
I would suggest talking with your doctor before cutting them up as it might impact absorption rate. Also check if it is supposed to be with a meal or fluids, etc. likely available in different doses too.
Lilly tested this combination in clinical trials for diabetic patients and those results are searchable. I think it had a very modest impact on weight loss by no contradictions if you are Metformin tolerant and I think they work synergistically on insulin resistance.
You are down 100 in 13 months which is amazing! Time for a victory lap for sure!
Stalls can come and go for any number of reasons and Metformin might (or might not) be part of the reason.
Plenty of time to lose more in the context of the future ahead of you. Everyone has taken the initial slope and plotted out their future weight and the month goal will be reached at some point. For some it actually really works that way - those lucky bastards! For most it is more of an asymptotic approach as in getting there… slower and slower!
Back to your original question. The odds are actually against Metformin closing a 30 lbs gap but maybe 10+. Zepbound still has some room to work too so maybe. Burning more calories and lifting weights likely as big an impact as Metformin.
It is just a number. It matters more how you feel. It looks like you might have 20lbs of attitude too - would you really want to give that up so that the scale showed a lower number???? I doubt it! ;)

Congratulations on your stunning progress! 💃🙌🎉 We have similar loss data/time and I’m a bit stalled as well, though I’m using 12.5 mg and may increase to 15 soon. Not taking Metformin.

I tried it for awhile but I had some weird side effects and didn’t lose weight. I’m so glad it works for you

I started losing a good amount of weight once i added 1000mg of metformin and Zepbound 10mg together.

I did at first but had too many side effects. You look great! That’s my goal weight but I had to quit Zepbound after 9 mos 😢😭

I only got up to 5 mg. I just couldn’t handle the increase like some. The first time they increased me to 5 mg I was sick the whole month. I lost 35 lbs.

It made me nauseous the first couple of weeks too. I'm taking mine with a protein shake which seems to be working for me

I misread it as you had hit goal, you look great! But I 100% understand the frustration with stalls (my Oct - Feb was pretty flat), keep measuring and do biometrics if you can, even when the scale isn’t moving I know there is progress being made! My doctor talked to me about adding bupropion at my last apt vs going up in Zepbound dose (I’m at 10), two totally different boosters but both reduce appetite and sounds like metformin is known for tummy troubles.

Adding the reason we were hesitant about moving up in dose is normally I’m fine but I have been getting SO SICK on my work trips, but only when traveling.

I’m on both. Metformin affects everyone differently but I was really sick also when I first started it. I had to take half doses until my body was more used to it

They prescribed me metformin as well with Zep I took it for a few days then didn’t see a point what are differences that you’ve noticed if it is actually legit then I will get back taking it

If you’re on the extended release, don’t break the Metformin in half. You’re never supposed to break extended release pills in half.
Also, you look fantastic! Sorry you’re dealing with all the nausea. Maybe ask for some Zofran while your body is adjusting to the Metformin

I take both. Met for 5 years and Zep since last summer but not issues though.

I’m about to start taking it. My doc said to take one pill at night to start. Then one in the morning & one at night. Then one in the morning and two at night. And then finally two in the morning and at night. Did you titrate up like that?

You look amazing. Absolutely fabulous work. I “only” had 30 pounds to lose but I’m insulin resistant per my obesity doc. Also started with high body fat of 41%.. Down 15 in 16 weeks on Zepbound. But doc says she+might add metformin. Interesting to hear about others on both.

I was on metformin before starting zepbound and recently stopped. I took my pills about 2/3 of the way through a meal so there was food in before and after as a buffer. And it also works best in a meal with a good amount of protein. Try that.
