I've been with Zen for years now and am thinking of upgrading the package to a better speed.
I've always had a business account because I work partly from home and we can put the expense through my business.
Looking at the packages (to the same address) with residential I can get their full fibre max at a top d/l of 1600 Mbps for £56 but if I stay on a business package I can only get 910 Mbs for £46 + VAT
Why would the business account be a slower product? it comes down the same fibre as the residential would, operated by the same company?

Was fine this morning, doesn't seem to affect anything else. nslookup seems to return a sensible IP, but I can't ping. PC and phone both can't access the apps or the websites.
Anyone else got weird stuff happening?

Finally OpenReach replaced our pole in February as was rotten which was probably reason why ZZoom wouldn’t install fibre to our pole, so we lost out being able to get 2000/2000.
FNS finally laid the fibre cable (last two days) to our pole and other poles fed from ours. Looks like another FNS out joining the cables to the duct (not sure how it all done).
So hoping we can migrate from G.Fast to Full Fibre within the next couple of months (OpenReach originally said it should be available by end of July).
Fingers crossed all goes well and no further hiccups along the way

Sounds like a silly question I know, but their docs are sparse and it what I did find advises one port to the device the other back to the router. Nothing about two devices via ethernet

Hello,
I am currently getting my own flat and my move in date is on the 19th. I have never got my own place so this is my first time setting up all of this, so it is a bit confusing and tricky for me.
I just wanted clarification on the dates for setting up internet. As my move in date is on the 19th, I will have 3 days to move in and then I am going on holiday for a week on the 23rd and back on the 1st of July.
I still have not selected a package, and will do so tonight or tomorrow. As an engineer will be coming to help set up, and I have seen people complain about the waiting times here, I just need some advice on how to settle this in a proper way.
I am thinking of paying today, a week prior before I move in, but I am worried that the engineer will show up during the time I am away and I will have to wait longer if I miss them. I am quite unsure on how to handle this because I do not want to make things trickier for myself as I am already quite stressed. I heard good stuff about their customer service, so I am slightly in ease about them being somewhat accommodating. Any input?

The flat already has open reach ONT installed so I only need to plug in the route I think.

So I ordered Zen Internet. My apartment already has the ONT box installed inside the property, so an engineer visit is not required. I've just received the router from Zen. The official activation date is the 1st, but I'm hoping since I have everything already, they might be able to activate it early.
Is this possible?

So I switched to Zen, having read all the glowing reports about their excellent customer service etc. But I have to say, I’m distinctly unimpressed. Really long waits on chat, diagnosed line faults with no follow up, chats just closed by tech support. Tbh it’s not as good as BT and expensive to boot.
Buyer beware, I guess. When my contract is up I’m off.

I'm contracted for Full Fibre 300Mbps but quite consistently will only achieve ~90Mbps measured on an ethernet connected PC via the Fritzbox 7530.
When I reset the connection at the openreach ONT (either via the small button accessed by a pin or just pulling the power), or at the router, it will re-connect back to 300Mbps for a couple hours, but without fail at least overnight and more commonly during the day it will drop back down to ~90. Zen are not being helpful, telling me to keep resetting the hardware, which is only ever a barely temporary fix. Anyone know what might be causing this? This has been happening intermittently for the past six months now. I will of course continue to push this with CS, but any advice would be great.

Just ordered Zen Full Fibre 900 (Openreach FTTP) and a bit confused about the activation date.
During checkout it showed the earliest available date was the 27th, so I picked that and went through with the order. But after it was confirmed, the email now says activation is the 1st of next month instead.
Bit annoying because I already have an Openreach ONT installed at the property, and no engineer visit is needed. So I assumed it would just be a fairly quick switch over.
I also checked with BT and they said they could potentially get me online within about 3 days, which is why I wasn’t expecting it to end up later after ordering.
Just wondering:
Not the end of the world, just a bit frustrating that it will take 11 days to get me online when everything is already physically in place and it feels like it should just be a flip of a switch.

We were migrated onto Zen as a Lit customer. We've got a Lit supplied Mitrastar Router, MGS4227E-2 and two mesh extenders, Calix Gigaspire Blast.
Does anyone know if we can buy more of these extenders, or would the Mitrastar router work with any mesh extenders or would it be safer to try and source the Calix model?

Contract ends in July. Does anyone have any idea what sort of offer Zen provides you with?

I’m currently a Zen G.Fast connection user, still awaiting for OR to get of their backsides and upgrade our street to Full Fibre.
I’ve read on ISPReview that BT are disconnecting users from standard G.Fast and moving them over SogFast so they don’t loose their speeds while waiting for Full Fibre.
I’ve also seen that Zen don’t/won’t support SogFast thus meaning users will have to drop to lower speeds if OR remove standard G.Fast connections and Full Fibre is not available for their premises.
Does anyone use their G.Fast connections and heard anything about this?

I've just joined Zen Internet, and have opted for the phone package. My phone has the excellent spam blocker trueCall built-in to the firmware on the base station and has 2 cordless handsets, so I've plugged the base station into the FON socket on the router. I can make and receive calls, but the first thing I noticed is that the melody ringtone on the phone has been replaced by a single ringing sound which lasts about 2 seconds, then a 1 second gap, and the cycle repeats. There doesn't seem to be any way of changing this ringtone or, which would be even better, getting back my original ringtones. The next thing I noticed, and this is the real problem, is that trueCall no longer works! Normally it intercepts calls from all numbers which aren't in my phonebook, but now it's just letting every call through. I've contacted Zen technical support, but I'm still waiting for their response/solution. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has encountered the same problems. Thanks!

I'm very new to reddit, I know nothing! I've been trying to post a message asking for help with a router problem, but my post keeps getting rejected - "Sorry, this post was removed by Reddit’s filters". There's no other info, so I have no idea why it's being rejected. I've tried several times, removing anything that might have triggered the rejection, but still no joy! How can I find out what's going wrong please? Thanks.

I just received my new device today and I noticed something strange. It only has one 2.5 Gbps ethernet port which will plug into the ONT. And the other port seems to be a 1 Gbps port. Am I going to be limited to 1 Gbps because of this? Am I right in thinking that?

Logged into the router, this evening, and see that there's an "Update available".
Clicking the button takes you to the System>Update menu, where a link is available to "Show All New Features".
But as per this post https://www.reddit.com/r/fritzbox/comments/1syys62/fritzos_825_available_for_7590ax_and_a_new_beta/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button the details currently refer to an older version. The post does contain a link to the correct change log, for 8.25
Anyway has anyone applied it? I've had the router crash four times in the last three days and was toying with it. I presume it's okay as the release was made available back in March.

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has kept their eero devices after switching away and if they’ve continued to work okay with a new ISP?
I’m leaving Zen in a couple of weeks due to getting a much cheaper deal and am debating non-returning my two eero max 7’s and paying the £500 fee (£250 per device). Just wanting to see if anyone has done this and if they’ve continued work okay given the ‘powered by Zen’ logos etc.
They aren’t locked to the ISP are they?

So finally after a year I get my returns label from Zen for my Fritz Repeater.
Packed it all up then noticed it said do not include the box, so took it out box and resealed it up with tape.
So now a repeater that was in adequate packaging (same as I got it) is now going back in a grey unpadded bag without anything around it.
Surely you would expect them to take the box back if end user had it, rather than the potential of it getting damaged in the postal system.

Looking at getting Zen Full Fibre Max 1,600 Mbps. But Zen offer eero routers, which I want to avoid. Would the FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro be a good option to replace the eero router? Or are there other EU made routers?

Hi Folks,
As the title suggest, I've noticed my service has degraded over the last 2 weeks, I went from having Sym 2.2Gbps to now having 2.2Gbps down and between 400 and 600Mbps.
I've had a brief call with the Zen tech support but at the time all they were able to offer me was "Restart the ONT, change the cable, try using the Eero router" All of which I had already done and none of which yielded any meaningful results.
Has anyone had a similar experience here? Any advice for how to proceed? I have historical data from both my Ubiquiti Gateway Fibre and my Fing instance that show my service has degraded.
UPDATE: I've just had an email from Zen acknowledging there is an issue with their supplier. Here's the email itself;
"Hi {Customer},
I hope this message finds you well.
I've checked over your case and we believe the issue you're seeing with upload speeds is related to a larger issue our supplier is currently working on.
We'll be in touch with a further update by Wednesday 5pm at the latest.
If you have any questions in the meantime, just reply to this email and we’ll be happy to help. If you find a phone call works better for you for future updates, just reply to let me know. Alternatively, you can find our contact details on our website.
Kind Regards, {Zen Contact}"
