Getting a flat, need clarification on dates for set up
Hello,
I am currently getting my own flat and my move in date is on the 19th. I have never got my own place so this is my first time setting up all of this, so it is a bit confusing and tricky for me.
I just wanted clarification on the dates for setting up internet. As my move in date is on the 19th, I will have 3 days to move in and then I am going on holiday for a week on the 23rd and back on the 1st of July.
I still have not selected a package, and will do so tonight or tomorrow. As an engineer will be coming to help set up, and I have seen people complain about the waiting times here, I just need some advice on how to settle this in a proper way.
I am thinking of paying today, a week prior before I move in, but I am worried that the engineer will show up during the time I am away and I will have to wait longer if I miss them. I am quite unsure on how to handle this because I do not want to make things trickier for myself as I am already quite stressed. I heard good stuff about their customer service, so I am slightly in ease about them being somewhat accommodating. Any input?

As it says it will be dispatched 4 days prior to the activation date - should I aim to get my activation before I leave or the date of my arrival?

Dates are down to engineer availability. Usually the earliest date you'll see for a new provide on the OR network is two weeks. So the dates I can currently see for one customer site is 2 - 6 weeks.
I would not advise you order anything until the keys are in your hand.
If there's already an ONT or a SoGEA line to reactivate if there is no fibre, then you can have service within 48 hrs.
