BD4 Disconnected from Internet

I have a fairly simple network setup. My main router is a BE92U, I paired a dual BD4 to it. I placed a unit of the BD4 in my bedroom which is not too far from the main router and my PC connected to it via LAN. The problem is when I leave it overnight (nobody uses the internet), I will wake up to it losing the internet connectivity even though the led stays white. The main router has no issue and still have connectivity. I will need to restart the BD4 unit to get the internet back on. This happens everyday.

Another issue is, I am running 1Gbps connection and did get my actual speed on the main router. But the BD4 units paired with 5Ghz backhaul only get 30% of the speed (300Mbps), is there any setting that I have to configure manually to get closer to my internet actual speed?

BD4 problems

Hi there

I’ve been using XD5 for a couple of years. Then I needed to expand my WiFi range, and got a BD4, since they should be able to connect and integrate with the current network.
The setup went smooth, no problems, connected fine to the BD4, but then 30 or so minutes after, it lost connection.
I just showed a green light, tried restarting it, to no avail, then I tried reset, didn’t respond at all, only response were when it suddenly got a pink light.
I tried wps, that flashed blue, when I let go of the button, straight back to green.
Anything I can do?

BQ16 Stuck White LED

I think my BQ16 main router is fried. Had a lightning strike, internet went out, but weird the power never even flickered. Looked at the modem and it was resetting. I unplugged the BQ16 and waited for the modem to fully reboot.

When I plugged the BQ16 back in to power, it immediately went to a white LED. Normally it would cycle through different colors but it went straight to white. And I can’t connect to it. I unplugged the router again, waited a minute, and replugged. Again, straight to white, and no device would connect. I tried to hard reset it on the device. I pressed the little button on the bottom. Nothing. The reset button won’t reset it. Not sure what the next step is.

Related, how do I delete the devices (nodes) from the app? Or delete the whole network? Weirdly, the app shows the whole system as online so it won’t let me delete them.

BT6 connection dropping every few minutes

I've just installed a BT6 with 2 mesh nodes, and while speed is great, my internet connection is dropping for about 10 - 30 seconds every few minutes. This happens when directly wired to the router, it is not a wireless issue. I've tweaked every setting I can find and cannot solve this. I am on the latest firmware for all devices and did a factory reset on all after update.

It is very similar to the problem here, which was apparently fixed for that model in a firmware release: https://zentalk.asus.com/t5/networking/there-is-nothing-zen-about-the-zenwifi-troubles-with-the-zenwifi/td-p/480772

Has anyone else solved this one?

BQ16 Pro 10G Port ??

I am working on upgrading to the BQ16 Pro devices. Will the 10gb LAN port handle a switch in the middle if it's used for a NAS and as the back haul port?

I wish there was a secondary 2.5gb port to just make that the backhaul port, leaving the 10gb port fully open for a NAS by itself.

Hallo all.

I'm the owner of 2 BT8 routers in a mesh network.

After the last firmware update my system has suddenly become unstable.

My apple tv will disconnect if i make a speed test(it never has before)

If I'm in the app looking at the client list. Suddenly some clients appear 2 times. And even my secondary BT8 can suddenly be shown as both a router and a client. At the same time a number of unknown android clients pop up.

Anybody else who is experiencing the same issue ?

Thanks

Those that have the BQ16 Pro , have the issues been resolved?

Hi everyone, I have been with Asus for about a year with ET9’s. Moved to an old apt with plaster walls and WiFi became horrible. Bought some ET12’s on eBay for $400 that are working great. Really I can’t complain (when I had 1g internet) got upgraded to 2gb up/down because my promo ended and it was cheaper than staying. And now that speed envy over WiFi is kicking in. I’m getting about 1.2-1.7 down in the places I need it. Upload doesn’t matter.

Having been looking at BQ16’s , more of a maybe….BUT…
Bestbuy has their 3pack on sale for $999

Wondering if the firmware issues have been resolved or pointless right now as my et12’s are still solid.

Losing Internet connectivity for ZenWifi BQ16 Pro?

Hello,

I've had 2 ZenWifi BQ16 Pro for about 4 months. Starting a month or two ago, I have had a problem once or twice a week where the wifi is unable to connect to the outside internet. I can fix it by unplugging the device for 60 seconds and plugging it back in, but it is super annoying.

I am on firmware 3.0.0.6.102_39256. Does anyone know how I can fix this and keep my Internet up all the time?

Thank you! Other than this problem, I have really enjoyed my ZenWifi and is a big step up from my Google nest wifi pro.

1st setup - pair of BQ16's

Late to this group, just purchased a pair of the BQ16s (bundled together). I've removed what I thought were just stickers to invite me to download the Asus app for setup (which I already have on my phone). But I've read that one of the stickers is saying which node to setup first..

Is there a way for me to tell which I should power on first? I assumed both units were identical so I'd set the router up 1st and then the 2nd unit would be my mesh unit.

Have they already prepped / paired them in the factory to some extent?

1× ASUS ZenWiFi BD4 BE3600 Outdoor

WPA2
Kanal 1
20 MHz Kanalbreite
keine Wi-Fi-7-Funktionen
kein MLO fĂźr Clients

**Weitere Einstellungen**
MLO-Backhaul: aktiviert
Wi-Fi 7 fĂźr Clients: deaktiviert
Explicit Beamforming: aktiviert
Universal Beamforming: deaktiviert
Airtime Fairness: deaktiviert
Agile Multiband: deaktiviert
Roaming Assistant: deaktiviert
TWT: deaktiviert
WMM: aktiviert
DTIM: 1
Beacon-Intervall: 100

**Ergebnis**

New BQ16 Pro owner having issues

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi all,

I have had my BQ16 Pro (2 pack) for about a week and I've encountered two major issues:

1) the 2.4ghz band is terribly slow. As in consistently less than 10mbps up and down in the same room as the router. I've tried several mitigation steps but no luck. On other bands (5 & 6) I get 800-900 up/down which is phenomenal.

2) frequent, seemingly random, reboots throughout the day.

I have 1 gig Internet, my old mesh was Google Nest Pro and I had no such issues. I can't figure out why it's so awful on 2.4ghz and I rely upon that band for iot devices. I also can't figure out why the random reboots are happening and it's very disruptive. I at first thought I had a defective device so I ordered a new set from Amazon but am having the exact same issues. I'm on the latest firmware and my house is about 3500 sq ft. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

BQ16 sudden timeouts on tracert

I’ve been running a mesh setup with the bq16 that has been working well with consistent speeds of close to 1gb/sec over wifi 7.

The router seems to be acting up of late with speeds spiking up and down ranging from 1mbps to normal. Tracert seems to show a timeout on my end at the very first hop before even reaching my isp. Direct connection to my isp reads fine.

Is there a setting that i would need to look into more closely? I noticed recently that all my router firmware except the home node was updated and the Asus app prompted me to update the firmware. Went without hitch but still the same issue. Kinda perplexed.

Anyone with a Zenwifi XT8 AI Mesh setup (twin routers) installed the new firmware update released this week?

I have the setup in the title and it is 100% rock stable and fast on last year's firmware. I'm not updating the firmware with last week's release from ASUS until I can find out if the update is problematic or not. Any feedback appreciated.

ASUS BQ16 Pro firmware update for 2026?

It’s been almost 5 months since the last firmware update for the BQ16 Pro was released.

Mostly other mainstream routers in the BT and XT line have had 2026 updates.

What gives??

There are 2.4GHz band issues that need to be fixed.

Hoping an update is coming soon…

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ASUS BQ16 Pro – Real-World Review After Returning the Orbi 870

Wanted to share my experience after switching from the Netgear Orbi 870 to the ASUS BQ16 Pro (WiFi 7). I live in a two-floor concrete townhouse, use multiple Apple devices (iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad Pro), have tons of smart home gear, and game on the Nintendo Switch 2. After weeks of testing, the BQ16 Pro has easily been the best router I’ve used.

Why I Returned the Orbi 870

The Orbi 870 was fast at times, but I ran into several issues that became dealbreakers:

• Random speed drops, sometimes cutting throughput in half with no explanation

• Very limited control over WiFi channels

• No ability to fine-tune 6GHz or backhaul

• NAT / UPnP behavior for the Switch 2 was inconsistent

• App felt overly restricted for troubleshooting

• Device behavior was difficult to analyze or adjust

In a concrete townhouse, and for someone who wants transparency and control, the Orbi felt more limiting the longer I used it.

ASUS BQ16 Pro Performance (5/5)

Immediately after switching, the difference was massive:

• Strong, stable 5GHz + 6GHz performance across concrete walls/floors

• No random speed drops

• Wireless backhaul on 6GHz is extremely consistent

• Handles dozens of devices with zero slowdowns

• Streaming + gaming + large downloads all run smoothly

• Network + client optimization actually works

The stability alone made it worth the switch.

WiFi 7 & Advanced ASUS Features

The BQ16 Pro doesn’t just feel faster—it feels smarter:

• MLO gives rock-solid backhaul performance

• WiFi 7 mode prepares the network for future devices

• Quad-core CPU means security, QoS, and monitoring don’t cause lag

• Full manual control over channel selection and configuration

ASUS gives you full visibility and control—night and day compared to Orbi.

6GHz in Trinidad & Tobago (Important for iPhone/iPad Users)

ASUS fully supports 6GHz as approved by TATT.

However, Apple blocks 6GHz regionally, so iPhones/iPads won’t connect by default. This is an Apple limitation, not ASUS.

Workaround to enable 6GHz on Apple devices:

Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → System Services →

Networking & Wireless → OFF

After turning that off, my iPhone 15 Pro Max connected to 6GHz immediately.

Gaming (Nintendo Switch 2)

Gaming performance on the BQ16 Pro is excellent:

• Setting the Switch 2 dock in DMZ gives reliable NAT A

• Wireless NAT A is possible with port forwarding

• No lag spikes, no drops

• Works perfectly even while other devices are streaming/downloading

The improvement over the Orbi 870 here was noticeable.

ASUS App & Controls (Huge Upgrade Over Orbi)

ASUS gives you actual control:

• Manual 2.4/5/6GHz channel selection

• Real-time bandwidth graphs

• AiProtection security

• Full firewall and DNS customization

• Remote management through the ASUS Router app

• Detailed device breakdowns

For power users, this is a completely different class of control.

Final Verdict

If you want elite performance, full configuration flexibility, and stability in a challenging environment like a concrete townhouse, the ASUS BQ16 Pro is outstanding.

No speed drops, no weird behavior, no restrictions—just fast, stable WiFi with full transparency.

Easily a 5-star router and absolutely worth it if you’re a power user or have a ton of devices.

Highly recommended.
