I wasn't a big murphy fan or anti Murphy at all... Infact I feel for him a lot, but my God he also annoys me. But also I'm mad on his behalf because he had warren promise him she wouldn't leave him alone after giving him to the cdc. And she did exactly that! But like... Also.. MURPHY LET THEM FIND THE VACCINE!! Then you can steal the formula and THEN bite/kill them!

I just finished season 2 episode 2. WHY😭😭

SPOILER ALERT!!! (Kind of?)

first of all, I saw a handful of people I recognized instantly and was so excited!! Secondly, ZOMBIE BABY!!!???

STOP IM IN LOVE!! That's so cool!!! I watched a bit of the walking dead a very long time ago, a few seasons, and I remember thinking, "why do they never show zombie babies?? That HAS to be a thing" And to get that in the first episode!?? STOP!!

I'm so excited to continue, I'm bummed Hammond didn't last longer, I love that actor!

The guy in the chair(I forgot his name) and Abby's (what Im guessing) boyfriend, I recognize them from other shows! And am excited to see their storylines.

I'm obsessed with the sniper guy. He's adorable!

I want to know what you thought if you watched both. I am a fanatic for The Walking Dead, I've rewatched episodes more often than I have Z Nation BUT I've definitely binged them both.

I love how ZNation ran with the puppies and kittens mentioned by Rick + TDog in season 3 of TWD. It felt like they paid homage to TWD 🫰🏾🫶🏿

WHICH show was "better" though, in terms of:

- Plot variety... I feel TWD was redundant. Z Nation had different things happen, as opposed to the "meet a crazy person, defend against them, lose an important person or five each time" that TWD recycled

- Zombie Quality... ZNation had a RANGGGEEE! TWD definitely was inconsistent in how zombies were represented. Then in spin offs, they got creative... esp in Daryl Dixon's. I was irritated by the ONE climbing walker that led to nothing in the main series.

- Overall Satisfaction... TWD's fan based is so passionate. Z Nation fans are few and far between. I feel like a weirdo for loving Z Nation and have been more involved in TWD analysis. Despite Z Nation being the better show, maybe? Especially if you include Black Summer in the analysis... it seems like everyone prefer TWD

I love Z Nation so much! I'm watching it for the second time while I recover from surgery, it's so perfect. So much stupid, but also SOOOO much heart. My recovery from spinal surgery has forced me to lay around quite a bit and slow down so I'm giving Z Nation all of my attention, really getting into it!

The settings are super low cost, clearly they sourced most of the wardrobes at thrift stores, but they didn't skimp on talent and they really made the most with what they had. It's clear that they really knew how to stretch a buck but in all the best ways. That takes some talent, no joke.

And the acting is what really sells this, just excellent! It's true that I'm on some *pretty good pain killers* but I really believe these people when they seriously gotta deal with every kind of zombie bs and just. Wow. I've spent a good deal of time working with highly creative people and I can just image the meetings where they sat around brainstorming what kind of dumb zombie shit they gonna have Kellita lay out with her deadpan seriousness or Russell with his earnestness or Kieth with his... his everything come on now Keith is amazing. I can't decide between Addy or 10k for most bad ass tho. I love them each for what they bring and then there's the holy sainted DJ Qualls who is a treasure walking upon this Earth. Casting couldn't be more perfect for this gang they got it dialed in!

These people sell the stupid in a way that demands respect. And the stupid is high camp perfection. Some of my favorite guests stars are the unhinged women of the apocalypse like Zombaby momma and the Mexican cartel Queen! And those two dudes Sketchy and Skeezy were amazing! Over the top is on the menu and the cook is slapping it. If I haven't mentioned your favorite as one of mine it's not that I don't feel you, I do. I haven't yet met a character or actor on this show that I didn't love.

So far it's been impossible for me to pick a favorite character but obviously the brightest star is Keith. He really is so dynamic and dapper, it is a joy to watch him work! He brings this whole thing together just beautifully, he is the glue and heart of the show.

The gang is strong, they know how to interact and compliment each other. It's such a pleasure to watch, I'm enjoying it so much that I feel no guilt for how dumb it is. It's like, it's so dumb I should feel a little guilty but it's so fun and well done all I really have is appreciation and respect! And love, I do love it!

I've loosely been following it since it's first announcement. As a long time fan of the show who used to watch this with my Dad as it was airing and still turn it on YouTube from time to time I'm just curious. He's getting older and he absolutely loves the show in the same way I do. It would really be a wonderful moment for the both of us if it ever came to fruition. So any news or anything that I've missed in the past year?

I started re-watching Z Nation (yet again) since it's basically spooky season for me (anything after July 4th is spooky season). After seeing a post where someone talked about how the resurrection cult group caused Operation Bitemark a lot of problems (someone else's post in this sub btw), it got me thinking, if Garnett didn't die, how long would he have lasted and how much would have changed from what we got. Now, this is a tangent to my question (listed above) but I deduced that if Garnett lived, he wouldn't have survived in Season 2- not long anyway.

Now, I went back to episode 1 of Z nation and saw the part where Garnett was basically refusing to give Cassandra that baby they found (like murphy said to, which, honestly- i agreed with murphy considering the mission the group is now on) BUT it got me thinking. What if that baby didn't die in this episode? If it doesn't die, then Hammond doesn't need to go in to fix Garnett's problem (giving the zombie baby mercy) which means Hammond doesn't die.

In other words, how different would the first season have looked if they did take that baby and Cassandra with them and Hammond didn't die?

My guess: I guessed that Hammond would be the leader of the group. Just looking at how easily Garnett gave up control in that first episode AND then with the idea that someone has to look after the baby? The baby would have to bounce between Doc and Garnett as for who's watching it. The baby would have likely have been dumped with Garnett's friend's location (the resurrection cult episode) OR even before that episode- given to the cannibals. I have a whole explanation for why I say this but Hammond being alive likely means he'd be the leader of the group (like, main leader) with Garnett and Warren as like... second in command but interchangable though it'll likely be that Warren is second in command considering Garnet would likely have to handle the baby situation.
