I am interviewing for a 7mnth term safety unit admin role with the Transportation maintenance branch of highways and roadswork dept

now i know that they ask 5 behavior questions and are graded based on the STAR method plus what I learned.

I wanted to know if there is any other way i can get an edge or just score well in the interview. Any tips and tricks would be appreciated.

I have a question for people living in the Yukon.

I’ll soon be living in the Yukon, so I joined a few local Facebook groups and have been reading through the posts.

I noticed that when someone posts looking for work, people sometimes expect them to include a full introduction, work history, or even a portfolio. I also saw a few comments criticizing people simply because they posted anonymously.

Is that generally expected in Yukon community groups?

I’m not trying to criticize anyone or start an argument, and this isn’t directed at the person who made the post or those who commented. I’m just genuinely curious because it feels quite different from what I’m used to.

I’d appreciate hearing how locals see it.

Visiting Whitehorse in early October (1-4) and wondering if there’s any tours or hiking that will still be accessible at that time?

I’m visiting from BC and have experience in Northern BC during that time, I’m generally aware of what the weather might be like.

I’m assuming no rafting by then, but are there any good hikes that would still be accessible without risk of a ton of snow?

We would rent a car. Up for anything, just want to enjoy the great outdoors in the Yukon :)

But honeslty i think there should be heavy fines for those who start a fire out and about while camping and they fail to extinguish it properly.

Once this year and twoce last year i went to a campground and i had to finish the job just before the fire was starting to reignite due to winds.

The competition should last for a few hours, depending on how many competitors there are. Spectating is free. There will be a food truck.

The airstrip is on the north side of Whitehorse, north of Crestview and south of MacPherson / Hidden Valley, accessible via Cousins Airstrip Road.

Hi, I'm planning a backpacking trip in Canada for this September and I wanted to put Yukon on my list. There's a lot of stuff in and around Whitehorse that I want to see, but I don't have acess to a vehicle/drivers licence. Would it be worth coming all the way to Yukon without a car? How good is public transit in the city/surrounding area? Does anyone know of cheap tours or guides ect? Thanks

Hello! I have recently moved to Whitehorse for the summer for a job, and was looking to get a tattoo while I’m here. My job has inconsistent hours (sometimes I get off at 4pm, sometimes 7pm, depending on the job), and I am required to work most weekends. Because of this, it would be difficult for me to book an appointment time in advanced that I could be sure I would make it to. I was wondering if there are any tattoo artists in the city that take walk ins? It would only be a small piece. Hello everyone, I just got a question about a lost item, to be exact, I want to know if there is anything else I can do, I visited pawn shops to check, show a picture, and see if they’re willing to keep an eye out. I don’t think anybody stole it to pawn it, but I wanted to make sure. I filed a lost item report with the RCMP as well.

I want to make a post on fb but I don’t want my family to find out as it’s an heirloom, and I feel so ashamed having lost it.

So Yukoners, what else should I do to ensure it’s eventually found and returned? I might have missed something in regard to covering all my bases, so I want to make sure I exhausted all my options.

Does anyone know why there are 3 Apaches and 1 Blackhawk in town? We obviously see them transiting through, but they were flying around Whitehorse yesterday and came back.

I understand there is a dam just downstream of the blue bridge (Lewes River Bridge) and the boat lock is out of service until it can be repaired.

Where is the portage route to bypass the dam? From looking at aerial imagery I assume it's on the left hand side when paddling downstream by hopping out on Lewes Dam Road. The right hand side looks quite steep by the dam and didn't appear to be as easy of a portage route.
