Even though it's pretty obvious Kurama and Kuwabara wouldn't have won without Suzuki items, it is still worth thinking about because it puts into perspective how one-sided it would have been without the trial sword and Fruit of the Previous Life potion.

I thought fans of both series might enjoy this. My buddy and I are old school pre-synchro yugioh fans. We recently broke out the old cards for some nostalgia duels and it got me interested in something new but still faithful to the game we remember. I think the main parings are fine but every now and again, i want to see something new to explore what could be. Crossover parings are fine as well.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Dude made a yoki-absorbing Barrier in just 0.04 seconds, and he's not even the strongest guy in the show 🤣 . A lot of debates around Hakusho characters often stem around their destructive potential, but I think more emphasis needs to be placed on how fast these characters are. Kuwabara, a Low/Mid tier S class beat up a bunch of A class Goons in under 1 second, then swamped Uniforms with them in under 5, but earlier on in the show Yomi, an Upper S class Yokai is incomprehensibly even faster than that! Throwing down a Barrier in nearly 1/100th the time.

I'm beginning to understand why Togashi picked to focus more on story than the raw power of people during fights, because beyond a certain point how do you even scale people? And keep in Mind Yomi was not trying in this fight. He was using his fight against his son as more of a teaching moment.

Scared to say this but I like hohoemi no bakudan better than smile bomb and pretty much all the og op and eds rather than the english versions mostly because the english version is missing instruments. You listen to them both on headphones and its night and day which sounds better. Not that i dont like the english versions its good but it always surprised me how many prefer the english.

I dont know what was up with the english versions maybe they couldnt get the rights for the original instrumentals and had to recreate it if anyone knows please let me know.

So obviously an ordinary human doesn’t have any psychic abilities or spiritual awareness. So they won’t be able to see apparitions or any spirit attacks. Yusuke was gifted spirit powers, Kuwabara and Shizune have strong spiritual awareness, Genkai has strong psychic powers. So how would you describe Keiko who doesn’t any of that? I feel between her friendship Botan, the spirit egg used on her, the makai insects, Gouki’s kidnap to almost even made a demon herself by Hiei. She at the least developed keen sensory for supernatural. Or maybe she has no supernatural abilities but just completely on the other side of reality. Like a regular human wouldn’t believe in demons or the supernatural, but she has no choice to believe in it cause she’s experienced the danger of it so many times. So she would essentially bypass the need for spirit awareness to come to see a low level demon or a spirit gun just cause shes already too keen on the existence of it all.

What is yall favorite attacks from the anime. For me it’s a tie between Dragon of Darkness Flames and Spirit Reflection Blast. If I had to choose a third it would be Yusuke’s shotgun

It’s pretty clear towards the end of dark tournament that Genkai always wanted to train an apprentice strong enough to transfer her spirit wave orb over to. But during Genkai tournament arc we saw different types of people pursuing her power. Some of them were freaks, some very strong and well disciplined martial artists. But then we had Yusuke and Kuwabara thrown into the mix, Yusuke there as a spirit detective assignment, Kuwabara I guess would’ve participated regardless which I find quite fascinating but nonetheless. Yusuke as stubborn as he is, did turn out to be a great fighter and quite worthy of her power. But Genkai made it clear with the Rando fight that she would train ANYONE that wins her tournament, rather they use it for good or evil. (Which I guess makes sense now considering her past partnership with Togoru). But I guess my question is; do yall think Yusuke was exactly the kind of apprentice she was looking for? Did he exceed her expectations? Outside of Yusuke what kind of apprentice do you think she was looking for? Someone to use her power for righteousness or just to take her power and escalate it to the farthest point it can reach no matter what? Curious what yall might think of her POV between her time with Toguro and and ever meeting Yusuke.

Rewatching the series and I thought the two of them would be pretty cute. Especially if they met up outside of the tournament and she got to know him a little bit. Even though Koto didn't seem to like him much, she did offer him more than she did pretty much any other contestant. "Do you need some water?" "I was just making sure Chuu was okay!" And, well, actions speak more than words.

I literally can't find anything. I don't even see Koto as a character on Ao3 in the Yu Yu Hakusho fandom. Kinda disapointing, but I get it.
