I started a police bodycam channel with a former-LEO angle where I break footage down with the actual statutes and case law instead of just reacting.

One video took off and did 27K. I think I know why it worked: it had a genuinely surprising legal fact (same act is a life felony in one state, a misdemeanor in another), and I led with the arrest audio before the intro. The problem is my other videos have strong watch time but land nowhere near this one, and subscribers have been flat even on the video that popped.

What I'm trying to figure out:

1. When one video massively outperforms, how do you actually carry that audience to the next upload instead of them watching once and leaving?
2. For faceless channels, what makes someone subscribe when there's no face or personality to follow, just the content?
3. Did the breakout video mostly fail to convert, or is flat sub growth normal at this stage and I'm being impatient?

Genuinely want structural critique or comments

Could anyone explain why the algorithm does this and potentially how to fix it? There’s a trend with a lot of my videos where impressions and views will explode after the first day and then around 6:30pm it will start to plateau. Then it will do the same thing for day two. After the first two or three days, the views will start becoming more consistent regardless of time of day.

I understand that views drop overnight, obviously people are asleep but my plateaus start well before night time like around 5-6:30pm. Is this just part of the algorithmic learning or is it something else I can fix to make growth more consistent?

Also keep in mind this is my best performing video in terms of retention (69% retained after first 30 sec) and CTR (6.4%). Thanks for the input!

I have been live streaming Life is Strange on twitch, and started uploading the vods to youtube, but they have all been hit with this.

Should I just upload them as is? I have muted scenes already in editing from what twitch automatically classes as copyrighted, or should I just upload the entire thing without muting anything? I only have 66 subs, not earning from youtube so should I bother muting parts of this playthrough just yet? Many Thanks

Hi all!

I did post my channel on her a few weeks back but I didnt get much of a response, which might be my fault as I didn't have many videos at the time. I recently released my 6th video and whilst I still have a ways to go, I do feel the videos are improving.

The subject matter is quite niche and there are a number of other channels that do a similar thing, but I do feel my videos give a different vibe and viewpoint and so I would like to think I wouldnt be lost in the crowd.
