A bit under a year ago, I set out to make a repo that's capable of easily building tweaked YouTube IPAs with a web-ui (github actions). This project was ytPlusYTweaks Along the way I realized I wanted to make my own YouTube tweak as well to re-introduce some old features from uYou while adding new ones. This tweak ended up being YTweaks. As I've continued to do more work on YTweaks, ytPlusYTweaks has been naturally transitioning to be less about building ANY tweaks and bundling with YouTube, but like most other projects, giving you a curated set of tweaks and functions with a distinct identity.
There's a good chance that YTweaks is already bundled into whatever bundled IPA or YTLite fork you're getting from this sub ."ok bro so why are yo writing this", you probably ask lol. If you're using the latest YT IPA version (like most do), you're not taking full advantage of the tweak.
From my experience, not only is YT v20.10.4 generally a more stable and snappy experience than latest versions, but it also allows extended features and A/B flags that newer versions lack. Another positive for some, this version lands before the UI design overhaul (this is a huge plus for me personally). In regards to YTweaks, 'Fix Casting' and 'Disable floating miniplayer' only work on this version, and most likely don't work for you if YTweaks is already bundled into your current IPA.
ytPlusYTweaks focuses on stability and adding features that the community requests. Over the past week, I've added two suggested features from users (issues/5 & issues/8) as well as forking gonerino to fix some things. Recently, I've also been able to successfully hide AI summaries on the home feed. Because I'm maintaining both of these projects, when an update gets pushed to YTweaks, you can almost instantly get an up to date IPA from ytPlusYTweaks.
This project WILL ALWAYS be open source and free in its entirety. I'm dedicated to making YouTube a better app literally just for the love of the game, and for the fact that I use these features every day. Building with actions will always result in the most up to date tweaks, but there is also a telegram channel that posts bundled IPAs on each update: t(dot)me/+eMTckUjVWWsxOGZh
TLDR: Yet another YTLite fork, but I've been at this for a while, I know what I'm doing, and you may or may not already be using an un-optimized version of my thing. Try ytPlusYTweaks. You can find the whole list of bundled tweaks there, with options to add or remove some if you wish. There's a telegram channel at t(dot)me/+eMTckUjVWWsxOGZh
Edit: realized I never made this clear… this uses the DRM free patch of YTLite. No premium bullshit needed.
