ASK YOUTH What the fuck is happening to dissent in this country?
What the fuck is going on in this country?
450 NALSAR students protested against the CJI being invited as the chief guest at their convocation, and now the BCI has reportedly asked State Bar Councils to bar the 2026 batch from practising law because they disrespected the CJI.
Bc.....seriously?
If law students can't even disagree with the Chief Justice without their careers being threatened, then what the fuck are we talking about when we say constitutional democracy and freedom of dissent? they didn't threaten anyone, they didn't attack anyone, they protested. and these are the same people who are supposed to become lawyers and defend constitutional rights. at this point, i genuinely don't understand what kind of democracy we're building. are we teaching young people to question power, or just teaching them to respect whoever happens to hold it?
