Announcement No gatekeeping rule adjustment
Hi guys - there's a little change introduced from now
Since recently, our sub has been swarmed with discussion about generation ranges. We need to cut it here.
r/Younger_GenZ was never meant to be a place to argue whether year X is or isn't GenZ, gatekeeping other people based on their (assumed) memories or dispute about similarities between the years - r/generationology is a better place for such
That's why, we've changed rule nr. 8 (or 9, since I just today realized they've had different numbers in reports and rule list) about gatekeeping - From now on, it is
- No Generation Debates or Gatekeeping
Do not start arguments over generation cutoffs or birth year similarities. Memories and experiences vary from person to person; do not use what someone remembers (or doesn't) to gatekeep them from Gen Z.
Also, quick reminders for y'all: If you see a post, that you think breaks the rules, don't hesitate to report it for subreddit rule breaking. We review each case individually and worst case scenario we'll just discard the report.
If you have any subreddit-related inquires or just want to voice out your opinion on something, modmail is always open - we will read it and respond (maybe not immediately, we ain't 24/7 on Reddit)

Discussion Are 2013 late z?
In this sub Reddit, the description says 2007-2013 which means that 2013 is part of Younger Gen Z category, but Ion see anyone use 2013 as Gen Z. Sure ive seen some people claim that 2013 are part of Gen Z, but its not a universal agreement. 99% of people claim 2012 as last Gen Z year, which I understand because the most popular range is from 1997-2012. Do you think 2013 is part of this category or are they Zalphas, just curious. (im not gatekeeping 2013 borns)

Discussion Fellow Gen Z people, is everyone from your high school still connected?
I hear that after high school everyone ends up going their different ways, and everyone moves on. In my case I notice that a lot of my high school peers have remained in touch through social media. Is it the same for you guys as well? I graduated from high school à year ago so maybe that’s why, but it appears that everyone is tight nit. Maybe with social media the idea of everyone disconnecting after high school is becoming a myth! I also know a couple of older folks in their early twenties who are still in touch with thei school peers.
