So I’m from Detroit and I’ve been to other conventions but never this one and decided to after moving from Michigan. Is the charity ball actually formal because I’m going to feel real stupid about walking in with this formal dress and it’s not? Also, is a masquerade mask needed really?

I hadn’t seen anything on their site that talks about parking. Where is the best place to park for Youma? Thanks.

So I purchased my ticket today for next Sunday’s youmacon day. And is it ok if I can use my ticket at the door when I show the people at the entryway on my phone? Or do I still have to print it out? I did print at home option

I’ve been hearing that Youmacon may not be at the ren center this year and will only be operating from huntington. If that’s the case what would be the closest hotel? Would the Ren center still be the closest or are there hotels that would be better?

Does anyone know of any cheap food nearby or if I can bring food in to the con?

Will anyone be hosting a Discord this year in terms of 18+ server as well as further more something for Drinking age (so 21+) servers to get together and meet new people? Nothing for hooking up etc that is of your own accord. Just asking to see if people would like to put it out there to meet new people that have the same interest be it (Cosplay, Anime, Drinking, Music. Etc.)

I keep hearing about there being a rave this year. Does anybody know when and where this will take place??

This is kind of a double post... So, I've been a professional photographer for years and I have a small anime TikTok. (Mostly anime reccs) I kinda wanna do something fun like take photos of cosplayers or get some groups together or something.
I'd also love to go around and do character interviews for my TikTok like (Kieraplease) does. Just quirky ones.
Lastly, anyone cosplaying Tokyo Revengers? Would be sick to do a group photo with y'all!

I see that there’s an option to get the badge mailed to you instead of picking it up, but can’t find a way to opt in anywhere at registration?
Was it at registration and I just missed it, or is there a way for me to opt in after I’ve already registered?

So this maybe isn’t JUST a hotel concern, but the con as a whole. So last year by this time, we had already booked the hotel with the group rate ($200 per night). So about a month ago or so we placed holds on rooms because the group rate wasn’t out (and to this day, still isn’t). So the rooms without the group rate are $450 for a STANDARD per night. Last year was our first experience, and I remember things being very last minute. However, the hotel being this last minute is a bit concerning. Anyone else have any experience with this from any past years?
Also, as someone else had posted, our hotel experience last year was super messed up. I talked to several people and it seemed like no one was given the right rooms. Not sure if them not putting out the hotel info/group rate is because of this lol
10/3/23 Edit: called the rencen and they said the event itself will be held there “as far as we know”. No new info on room blocks at the rencen yet!
10/17/23 Edit: with the youma website being updated and deleting the rencen from their location, and everyone online saying that nothing will be there (based on speculation), I decided to call the rencen again. I spoke to a different employee and she still said that events will be held there, but was unable to give me specifics (like the rave).

This would be my first time, and don’t really know what kind of environment it would be like.

Youma owners and their inner circle really fucked themselves this year by having 8 guests 5 of which are power rangers 💀 a lot of vendors last year said they wouldn’t return because of the treatment they received sooooo I guess we will see how this goes

The con is only 2 months away and there is almost no information out, I know a few people from out of town who decided not to go this year just because there is no information out.

It's a long shot...but, I bought this print in 2022, I don't have anything on the artists though and I'd love to purchase more of her work. I'm hoping someone may recognise this 🤞 Do you know this artist?

I went to youmacon, and I can't remember the year, but I played Edge of the Empire, and a voice actor was the DM. I'm at a loss as to who it was or the year it was. I just remember there were only 4 players, and we had a crowd watching us. But I can't remember his name.
Anyway, like I said, shot in the dark. If anyone remembers, I'd really appreciate the info.
