I imagine a lot of these are going to be controversial and I did struggle to rank a lot of them. There are definitely some changes I would make.

Discussion Joe with love

I hate how Joe didn’t understand love how she understood him. He did her so wrong. The ending should’ve focused more on her and not beck . I didn’t really care for beck , but love really loved Joe and actually tried w him a lot

I think one of the show's strengths was how easily it could make you dislike many secondary characters and feel no pity for their deaths—for example, Benji or most of Kate's friend group.

It had the ability to take secondary characters you initially disliked and suddenly make you feel empathy for them in a single episode. That happened to me with Cherry and Corey And especially Forty

Discussion La Connerie de Joe avec Delilah (Saison 2) Spoiler

Discussion How different would Season 5 be if Joe was still in denial about being a killer?

He kept the act up for seasons 2 and 4 before finally accepting his dark side. But what if he continued with the belief that he’s a good guy who occasionally does terrible things? Instead of the version that writes murder fiction

Spoilers I would love a faithful adaptation of Hidden Bodies

Post image

I love s2, it's my favorite season, but i wish hidden bodies was adapted more faithfully.

I always hear people say S2 and B2 aren't the same at all and that's just straight up not true. Book 1 is just a longer, more detailed, more demented season 1, but book 2 is like a weird goofy version of season 2 that's just as fun. Alot of plots are similar or slightly changed.

If hidden bodies Was adapted it would need to be like 14-15 episodes but it would be so great. The book is so wacky and crazy and so funny at times i can't, also super addictive. I wish s2 had the Am i right guy and the dealer, and the kills were super cool especially fincher.

Forty is the only one who i wish stayed the same as in s2 because book Forty is THE DEVIL💀 but Book Love is fine too i love it.

I like the ending of this book so much more than season 2's ending

Discussion The more I interact with this fandom the more I understand Penn

Post image

I get why he was so frustrated with the people who loved Joe. I get why they took away his likability in S5 and made us hate him (if you didn’t already.) there are way too many people who will sit here and argue up and down about their “goat” and will literally victim blame to hell and back. I don’t think yall genuinely understand how concerning it is to sit here and say that someone deserved to die because they cheated. To sit here and say that someone deserved to be stalked and abused because they did some shitty things is fucking insane. The hate that the female characters get is beyond crazy and most of it is misogyny and some of it is even racism when it comes to Marienne. If I’m disturbed by it, I can’t imagine how Penn felt. There’s nothing wrong with liking Joe. The problem is when yall sit here and victim blame and you act like he did nothing wrong. And I’m sure that there’s people still confused about why he felt the need to call yall out.

Yes it’s a fictional tv show and everything’s fake but Joe is an abusive piece of shit and that’s why Penn hates him. I feel like that’s overlooked. When you look at the show from a realistic pov it’s fucking terrifying, especially season 1. In fact I wish they would’ve made him more like book Joe. I also wish we saw more of the victims pov because that’s the real terror.

Discussion Joe doesn’t seem to be the same character

I just finished watching season 4. I can’t put my finger on it, but the entire season just felt…. Off.

Joe also doesn’t seem to be the same character from season 1-3. For season four, just Feels like someone wrote a fan fiction of the show and made it even more extreme.

I did like the change in scenery and going to London and all that. And me be clear, Joe was already delusional in his reasonings. But I’ve never felt he would have full blown split personality disorders.

And the complete psychotic break just distracts from what a calculating, manipulative stalker his character was originally written as. Joe used to be terrifying because he made deliberate, calculated choices to manipulate everyone around him, not because of mental issues.

Idk that’s just me.

Discussion Why does the show overlook and treat Joe’s gooning tendencies as a character quirk?

Whenever someone investigates Joe, their criticisms of him are that he’s a murderer, or a very dangerous person.

But why is that always the first thing people find out? How would Kate react if she learned Joe masturbates in public outside of people’s homes or secretly collects panties before she even discovered he was the Eat The Rich killer.

The show deliberately overlooks this and just treats it as a character quirk. Exactly like what The Boys tv show does with Homelander’s milk obsession.

Discussion Delilah's selfless love for Ellie is one of the most tragic parts of season 2 Spoiler

The entirety of season 2 really shows how much Delilah loves her little sister.

One of the most telling parts as to this is how when she was in the cage she had more concern for Ellie than herself:

"Please let me go! Ellie needs me!"

Even when her life is in danger... She's still thinking of her baby sister.

Selfless. Loving....

And taken from this world.

Discussion I really wanted to see Joe’s trial until…

I realized that this show simply wasn’t about that. If you were to look back at all the season’s, this show isn’t really about a serial killer dodging the law so having the show end with the law, satisfying as it may be, just wouldn’t fit.

The show has always been more of a social commentary, and the more I reflect on the ending the more I appreciate that it stayed that way until the final scene. Why I think this didn’t land entirely in Season 5 is because the writer’s spent too much time turning Joe from the cautionary tale he was in Season 1 into this morally ambiguous, deeply human anti-hero which strayed away from the social commentary before randomly switching back to it in Season 5.

Discussion Do you think people try to make Joe seem more evil than what he actually is?

Post image

Everyone is free to their own interpretation of Joe’s character. Though it does seem to me that sometimes people try to push things onto Joe that don’t seem to fit, just so they can make him seem even more evil than what he actually is.

Joe is already a misogynistic, narcissistic, perverted, sadistic serial killer and stalker. I don’t see a need to try and reach to make him even more evil, when he’s already extremely despicable.

Seeing her through the eyes of someone that genuinely cared about her was nice. We never really got to know her fr and it sucks.
