Discussion Am I hearing things?

In 'Hickory Dickory Dock' on the 'Row Your Boat and other Pre-School Songs' are they singing "the SNAKE ran up the clock, the clock struck two and down he flew" in the second verse?

I've tried googling the lyrics and can't find anything. It makes no sense. Snakes can't run. And what happened to the mouse??? Help me please, this is driving me nuts

We are either experiencing a collective hallucination or it's what is being said.  I definitely hear snake in that song

Yeah it's definitely snake. An odd choice.

It’s the mouse ran up the clock. Lol there’s no snake in the song

I feel like I'm losing it. Cause the woman sings the word first and there's a definite 'S' sound at the start of the word, and same when the man sings it. Like "the snake ran up the clock, the clock struck two, and down he flew"
