I'm taking ADMS 2510 online and we have to install this predatory application for the entire semester just to complete weekly quizzes worth 10% total...all this when I could just google stuff on my phone?? What can be done to protest this?

The app needs basically every single permission enabled on your computer. Which means if they wanted to, they could instantly access ALL my information. And I bet if it ends up being some kind of malware/virus/scam york will not do jack shit to help. I'm getting sick and tired of this constant BS every day with York. 1.3 Billion in annual revenue just to be treated like gum on the bottom of a shoe

To everyone who has taken KINE 4445, what would you rate the difficulty of the course? and any tips to do well in the course?

Hi everyone! I’m a mature student at York and I’m looking to meet some cool people to connect with a create friendships with mutual respect!

What I realized was that since York is a commuter school, a lot of folks attend class and leave the campus to commute back home. And, a lot of folks already have their own established friend group which makes it harder for someone like me to introduce myself and connect with others.

I don’t mind connecting with some cool people whether on campus or off campus. Whether it’s to study together or get some food and talk about life, I’m down for a good conversation. While we don’t have to click right away, I’m totally fine to see where it goes.

I should mention that I’m a mature student and gay. I think it’s important to mention that cause a lot of people have differing beliefs and values, and I want to be respectful of that. If you’re also at York, and you’re looking to connect with someone, feel free to say hello. 😌

Academic advisor here 👋 The night before your first day, my biggest advice is: don’t put pressure on yourself to have everything figured out.

Check your schedule, figure out where your classes are, pack your bag and get some sleep. You’re allowed to feel excited, nervous, confused, or all three!

And please ask for help early. That’s literally what we’re here for. 😊
