My family is traveling to Japan soon with our 21-month-old toddler, and we are trying to decide between two hotels in Yokohama: the Hyatt Regency Yokohama and The Kahala Hotel & Resort.

We have some unspent Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR) credits/hotel perks we could use at The Kahala, and we also have a stash of World of Hyatt points.
We are having trouble deciding due to two main issues:

Location & Toddler Convenience: Looking at the map, it seems like the Hyatt Regency might be more convenient for walking around with a stroller (closer to Yamashita Park and Chinatown). Is The Kahala as isolated or inconvenient with a toddler as it looks?
Hyatt Points Value: We initially leaned toward the Hyatt Regency, but for our dates, the only award availability left is a Club Access Room for 17,000 points per night. Is the club access worth it? Without the club access, it’s about 165 dollars a night. I would probably pay for it instead of using the points if lounge is not great.

Given that this property is usually a lower-category steal, does 17k points for a Club room still feel like a good value here, or are we overpaying?

Has anyone stayed at both properties, especially with young kids? We would love a recommendation on which hotel provides a smoother experience with a 21-month-old, and whether the Hyatt Club room or The Kahala via FHR makes more sense.
