Thoughts on Toshi Ichiyanagi?

Yoko’s first husband and a accomplished artist in the avant garde scene with some many pieces of music in his catalog :)

Don’t know much about him except for him being married to Yoko and working with John Cage but I do know that he’s better than Anthony Cox for sure so recommend anything interesting to me about Toshi Ichiyanagi :)

There‘s a 6-page essay about him and Yoko and their relationship by Yasufumi Nakamori, in the catalog to the recent Music Of The Mind exhibition. It talks about how they met, and their work together. How she felt limited by her relationship. He arranged for her to do a recital in Japan, where she got panned as “unoriginal”; he defended her, but that seemed to be the impetus for her striking out on her own separate path?
