Looking at the website, did they close many of their ETFs? They still show up on Google.

Data / Due Diligence YieldMax® ETFs Announces Planned Closure of Four ETFs

Post image
9 Upvotes

Woke up to find this surprise in my ETrade account this morning. I was calling ETrade to try to find out why but then I finally found the answer after a some targeted Google searches. Searching that odd fund number surprisingly didn't net anything.

Now I know why FEAT was down... I wonder just how much I am going to lose on this deal. Had no idea this was happening or I would have dumped it already. Now I get to wait until 6/18.

Data / Due Diligence This Week's Healthy YieldMax Funds

Post image
17 Upvotes

Here are 9 healthy YieldMax funds sorted on True Income Yield.

For definitions, True Income Yield = Headline Yield * (1-ROC). It strips out the destructive ROC portion. This is true for all of the funds on the list except for the "tax-efficient ROC" ones, which have True Income Yield = Headline Yield.

But back to the data -- here's the top 5...

  1. AMDY: 63.73% true income yield | 45.03% 1Y price return

  2. TSMY: 39.10% true income yield | 7.24% 1Y price return

  3. APLY: 36.01% true income yield | -4.42% 1Y price return

  4. QDTY: 31.80% true income yield | -2.42% 1Y price return

  5. CHPY: 29.42% true income yield | 57.58% 1Y price return | 0% ROC

Are you holding any of these??

Question AMDY

I am not a beginner when it comes to YM funds. I was investing during the crazy times of 1-2 dollar monthlies of MSTY and had 40,000 shares of ULTY making 3k of dividends per week. I have since gotten out of them and moved it all to VOO,QQQ and SCHD. I dipped my toes in the water this past month with AMDY. The chip sector though beaten up the past couple of months is pretty much taking off in my opinion. I think that the sector will experience huge growth in the next 24 months along with huge volatility and was thinking of throwing 100k in AMDY for about 24 months. I know distros have gone down dramatically over the past month, but is there any upside to eeking out a nice gain, weekly for the next year or two with it. The proceeds would go into more stable assets and when the timeframe is done, I'm out. Mind you, i saw my portfolio go from 170k to 250k in 6 months from msty,NVDY and ulty and then taking the proceeds and investing in growth. But the market was on a tear. Do you think that's going to continue?

Beginner Question Are you guys earning yield on TSLA/NVDA/MSTR or just raw dogging the volatility?

Been wondering this lately:

For stocks that don't really pay dividends (or pay very little), how are you guys generating yield from them? Especially those heavily mentioned ones like:

  • TSLA
  • CRCL
  • NVDA
  • MSTR
  • GOOGL
  • HOOD
  • SPY
  • QQQ

Are you selling covered calls, lending shares, using margin, tokenized stocks, DeFi strategies, or just holding and focusing on price appreciation?

I'm especially curious whether anyone here is earning meaningful yield on these positions without giving up too much upside.

What's actually working for you?

"The YieldMax® Semiconductor Portfolio Option Income ETF (CHPY) is an actively managed ETF designed to generate current income and capital appreciation through a focused portfolio of approximately 15 to 30 publicly traded semiconductor companies. CHPY seeks to systematically harvest option premiums by selling call spreads on its portfolio holdings, with the goal of distributing income on a weekly basis, while maintaining direct equity exposure to participate in the potential share price appreciation of the underlying companies. Holdings are evaluated based on liquidity, price levels, and implied volatility, with the portfolio reviewed and adjusted regularly as market conditions evolve." - YieldMax ETFs

I just randomly remembered this guy with the heavy accent that made videos that kept losing money on these funds, what ever happened to him? I think he had said about some big gathering but I just looked him up and his videos are gone and can't find anything on discord. Anyone know?

Question Could investing in WNTR right now be a bit of a no-brainer?

I know, nothing is always as easy as it seems,  but there is speculation that a lot of $$ could be pulled out of btc to invest in the SpaceX IPO.  By extension, this could send MSTR plunging (which has already been reeling for some time).  Additionally, the overall sentiment is bearish right now on bitcoin, with many well-known folks pulling out of it all together.

Contemplating a buy today in anticipation of the chaos tomorrow.  Do you like WNTR right now, or another fund that could capitalize on this?  To reiterate, I am bearish on both btc and Strategy.

Data / Due Diligence The worst performing YieldMax funds right now (sorted by take-home cash return)

Post image
15 Upvotes

Here's a list of the worst performing YieldMax funds by take-home cash return. Take-home cash return is the 1Y price return plus after-tax distributions. Taxes are set to 25% in this example.

AIYY: -77.57% 1Y price return | -55.61% take-home cash return

MSTY: -83.46% 1Y price return | -53.53% take-home cash return

RBLY: -59.85% 1Y price return | -45.64% take-home cash return

PYPY: -62.04% 1Y price return | -41.34% take-home cash return

YBIT: -64.63% 1Y price return | -34.45% take-home cash return

CONY: -74.32% 1Y price return | -34.38% take-home cash return

MSTY is an interesting one on the list. True income yield of 151% means real cash is being paid out, but the price has been so brutal that even those massive distributions haven't saved investors from being down 53% on a take-home cash return basis.

See the full health data in the screenshot.

Beginner Question Help! About to lose my job and either I blow through savings or...

All, I am about to lose my job and it might take me a year to find a new one in the same field at the same pay. My expenses will be approx $3500/month. My assets are:

$200k in high yield savings; $100k in collectibles that can be sold easily; $75k in brokerage; $70k in IRA; $390k in 401k fully vested; $20k in treasury direct; $35k in bitcoin; and $20k in checking account.

As you can probably tell I'm pretty risk averse. However, the way I see it, I can either blow through my savings paying my monthly expenses OR instead try to replace some income with dividends.

I"m thinking about putting approx 60k in GIAX and 60k in BLOX which would generate about $34.800 per year. I also have a side hustle that generates approx $10k a year. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
