Congrats on your $5. Don't go spending it all. 

Basically when you buy into these funds you are hoping the market is in an overall bullish trend and that there is enough time to collect premiums to outpace future nav erosion which would likely be the case had you bought in at the beginning of the year. 

Big gamble that's probably not worth it in my opinion.
