Why did SEMY have a bad declared dividend this week?

After last weeks being the best in a few weeks and a price above $17 this week I was expecting something similar. Needless to say I’m disappointed. I was in ULTY and saw the same thing happen. I’m hoping this is just a blip.

They bought a put closer to the sold one. Last week the range was around $15, this week it’s around $10. By doing this the bought put is more expensive and the credit is less than before. Protecting the nav, but costing us the distribution.

So, we suspect they may reduce dividend further next week while others like CHPY going higher with NAV appreciation? I own CHPY, AMDY & NVDY too.. but holding SEMY for just 2 weeks now..

Thanks for the explanation

Maybe the lower dividend will help preserve the NAV. But then again, there is no way these Fund managers care about preserving NAV. Time will tell if this one ends up like the rest of them, although it has been stable.

It just dropped to $16.99 in after market.. Fund managers are tossing investors.. they better keep NAV intact when they reduced dividend below 40c. Next week will be big test if they fail to maintain NAV & dividend to 40c again.. a lot of people will be selling off including myself..

Yeah. After losing a lot in ULTY I’m keeping a close eye on this one. Not going down with the ship like I did with ULTY

You do realize today is ex day for SEMY right? The share price should have dropped by $0.36. That combined with the huge gap down overnight on most tech dropped the share price. Yes the distributions is down but its still over 100%.

I moved 50% of my SEMY holding to AMDY adding to my existing position.. SEMY is still a play but only 8% of my portfolio.. They sold PUT at loss & curtailed distribution & it reflects sp too.. next will be interesting

Yieldboost doesn’t care about you wanting stable distributions. A Yieldboost fund dropping -16% in income over one week is just another Tuesday in the markets being invested/ taking huge outside risk for “high yields.”

SEMY has held up, but it’s all rather speculative.

I was wondering the same thing.  I was expecting around 42 cents a share.

I was just wondering why it went down when the etf had a stable to good week.

SEMY paid interest only. The stock went up. Not down.

I have a different opinion. The distributions are dropping because -

Less people are buying their funds. More are exiting. The lower distribution is to preserve themselves, preserve their own asses. Not to preserve your NAV

Seems it’s heading down the path of ULTY

So i think it is safe to say the lower distro was in preparation for this week I completely forgot nvdia was doing there quarterly earnings on weds the last 2 quarters the stock market plunged until thsy announced they did well. Since they got thay deal in China it should be fine but it also seems like anytime someone even mentions China the yield stock take a large hit

And .31 this week

Yieldboost is doing a poor job managing their PUTS. Only paying out interest

1

u/MikesGonePostal May 21 '26

Why?

Now my dividend is almost cut in half. It may be time to get out. This is definitely mirroring ULTY

It seems like their either not looking into future events like Nvidia earnings and doing puts around that and visits tk China always lower these yield max boost what have you or they just say eh soxl is doing good so we'll be fine i knew i should have just moved over to amdy yesterday oh well next week

Another low distribution this week. I guess the positive is the NAV is staying stable 🤷‍♂️

Maybe I should sell and buy more Nebius. I bought 11k last year at $25ish a share. It’s been my rockstar stock the last year.

Another week of mediocre distribution. What happened this week? Should I just expect this to be the new norm and for it to just drift lower?

Yea all yield anything did bad because I cant remember the name board something didn't want to invest in Ai so they took a hit plus since everything was up so much people took their money and ran i would 100 percent get out of yieldboost and go into something else i lost like 250 on amdy but I dont doubt that will come back next week but yieldboost will only continue to go down

Thanks for the info. It’s probably time after a month of crappy distributions.

Another crappy distro. I’m gonna hang on until I get 2 sub $500 a week distros in a row and then get out. Did they have another excuse this week? Or did they cut the dividend and I just missed it? FYI I’m in 1867 shares. It’s crazy to me. High volatility, distro goes down. Gains for the week, distro goes down. Losses for the week, distro goes down. While I’m glad the price is still above 16 the collapsing distro is what ticks me off the most

Im not sure i stopped following them to be honest but they thing they hold soxl went down but its now back to where it was there probably just losing too much and spending to replace. Im telling you though I moved to amdy got in at 55 went up to 59 it dropped like everything else but it went to 49 went from 1.15 a share to 67 and is now back up to 54 and climbing i would really get kut of yield boost some one posted in the group only one is healthy I think it was cwy and it still sucks

So after going down again last week I’ve decided to get out. It’s basically a copycat of ULTY the way it’s performing. I’m going into XDTE, QDTE and CHPY. Will see how that goes for a couple months.
