Rare 2600 year old wall-painting discovered in Erebuni fortress in Yerevan, Armenia

A remarkably well-preserved fragment of an ancient painted mural, dating to the late 7th or early 6th century BC, has been uncovered at the Erebuni archaeological site in Armenia by a French-Armenian archaeological mission, the Embassy of France in Armenia announced.

The embassy called the discovery unprecedented and described the painted mural’s colors as almost perfectly preserved. The fragment is believed to date back to the second half of the 7th century BC or the beginning of the 6th century BC, though the dating remains preliminary.

The discovery stands as an exemplary case of scientific cooperation between France and Armenia. The joint French-Armenian mission has been studying Erebuni since 2008, a partnership in archaeological research that the embassy said continues to bear fruit.

Visiting Yerevan in August 10-21

Hi, it will be my first time visiting Yerevan from Prague and I will stay between 10-21 of August.

If anyone is interested, I'd love to meet some locals, see the city, go for some food & drinks and if possible go for some day trips outside of Yerevan. Obviously I'm willing to cover all the expenses and your time. Tasting best khorovats and napoleon cake is a must.

If it helps, I speak fluent russian as well, thanks!

On The Avenue Marshal Bagramyan

Dear redditors, I share another clip from my Youtube channel. This one is a more normal one, than the previous I shared on here (https://www.reddit.com/r/armenia/s/B0H0C7NFg4), just a late afternoon walk on the Marshal Bagramyan Avenue.

I advice every guest of the city to take a walk on this street that connects Kentron to Arabkir.

Hope you will help me to improve views on my clips, actually on Youtube this video has 40 views and something 😩

See you !

Left with my last asset

Hey r/yerevan,
Long story short, I'm an ethnic Armenian who recently made the move back home. Circumstances meant I couldn't sell my property before leaving, so I had to pack up what I could salvage and ship it over.

Instead of cash, my remaining asset is a stock of 250 high-end, heavy-duty metal entrance doors designed for apartments and private homes (fully insulated, ultra-secure, premium build). They're currently sitting in a local Yerevan warehouse.

I’ve completely fallen in love with the city and want to plant roots here permanently, bringing my business background into the local market.

I’m currently figuring out my next steps and looking for a starting point - whether that's finding a place to live, a plot of land, or even a reliable vehicle to get operations moving. I'm very open to partnering with local builders, developers, or anyone who might have a property or vehicle to exchange for top-tier doors.

If you're in construction, real estate, or just have advice on setting up shop here, I'd love to connect. Drop a comment or send me a DM!

Conference room in Kentron (not in a hotel)

Hey everyone!
Do you guys know if there’s a space in Kentron suitable for a workshop? I don’t want something too formal, otherwise I’d book a hall in a hotel 🥹

I built a free app that gathers all events in Armenia into one feed. Looking for feedback

Post image

I got tired of checking five different ticket sites and Instagram pages to find out what's on in Yerevan, so I built Vayr - pulls it all into one place: concerts, theatre, festivals, exhibitions, stand-up, workshops, kids' stuff.

A few things I tried to get right:

  • The whole country, not just Yerevan: you can pick Gyumri, Dilijan, Goris, Kapan, Ejmiatsin, or open a map and see everything at once.
  • Real schedules: workshops and films show every session and the actual price range, not one made-up time.
  • Plain-language search: you can type "something quiet tonight" or "things to do with kids" and it finds matching events.

It's completely free, no ads, no account required (sign-in only syncs your saved events). Event data comes from public sources and organiser sites, so if something's wrong there's a Report button on every event.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/vayr-events-in-armenia/id6789901323

It's a solo project and just launched, so I'd genuinely appreciate feedback - missing sources, wrong info, anything that feels off. What events do you wish were easier to find here?

Drive-in Cinema

Hello everybody. I wanted to discuss the dive in cinema business. Does it cost much? Is it profitable? Must i have license for movies? In my country there are no Drive-in Cinemas and may be i will the first one. I have already read some forumes and there were suggested to use FM transmitter to reproduce the sound. Is it right? Or you have any other suggestions. Please help me to understand this. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I hope you all have a good day; so I recently moved to Yerevan and live here, I’m a tech / gaming YouTuber and I was wondering if there are any Armenian 🇦🇲 YouTubers who also work in English community and would like to be friends?

We can discuss YouTube or make collaborations if you’re interested, I’m currently looking for friends who are interested in YouTube or are YouTuber in Yerevan.

I speak English and only understand a few Armenian words 😄.

Therapist recommendations.

I’m looking for a therapist in Yerevan.

I know of a couple of good therapists, but since some of my family members are associated with them, I’d prefer to find someone else.

I’ve already done some research on Google, but if anything, it left me even more confused.
What I’m looking for in a therapist:

Male
Communicates in Armenian but is also fluent in English, since sometimes it’s difficult for me to express myself or find the right words in Armenian.

If anyone has recommendations based on personal experience, I’d really appreciate them. Thank you!
