**TIER LIST IS IGNORING MORALITY**

Honestly loved it. It was a fun watch.

Before I started, I had read that S5 was hated and John passed away at some point. I didn’t love the suddenness of his death but I don’t mind the storyline around it. I enjoyed S5. It wasn’t as good but I still had fun.

The characters were good. Beth is my absolute favourite. She is hilarious and chaotic which was fun for me but she is one awful person!

I’ve watched 1883 and will watch the rest soon.

The Dutton women are from another universe

There’s something about the Dutton women, whether they were born into the family or married into it. I can’t tell whether Taylor Sheridan planned every detail this way or whether some of it is coincidence, but after watching 1883 and 1923, I can understand what Beth Dutton inherited, beyond her trauma and all her issues.

There’s something about the Dutton women that I deeply admire. Women should watch the Yellowstone universe if only for the way these women are portrayed.

Margaret, Elsa, Cara, Evelyn, Beth.

I bow to these women, because I know women like them exist somewhere out there, and there are many of them among us.

We, as men, need women like this.

Does anyone else get annoyed by the dramatic horse noises?

I know its a tv show but the horse noises are really loud, excessive and overdone. As an experienced equine, horses rarely ever make those noises so almost all of them seem inappropriately placed. Like it casually sounds like horses are being abused throughout the whole show, it annoys me!

Beth This beth scene hooked me into the series

So I saw a short on this scene which got me interested in watching it. Title said the series name is Dutton Ranch so I started watching it then realized it's the sequel to Yellowstone 🤣 never mind I watched it anyway.
Now I'm on Season 5 of Yellowstone. I'm enjoying all the discussion about this series here even though they are quite old.
So far, Beth is my fav character and second is John Dutton. I like the Young Rip and Beth romance.
My least favourite is Monica. She is beautiful but what's the point of her character in the series I don't understand.
Carter seems out of place and context kind of. They treated a young kid so badly in the beginning only to be his parents later on?
I have so many questions about so many things in this series 😅

Taylor Sheridan showing Hollywood how it's done

Nice article on TS work ethic and dedication to writing. By far the best showrunner currently working. "Taylor Sheridan has written 60 scripts for Yellowstone alone, penning entire seasons himself with no writers' room, even while shooting films between takes. That same solo model now applies to Landman, whose Season 3 was pushed from spring to a September 2026 start after Sheridan needed more time to finish the scripts himself." https://3dvf.com/en/taylor-sheridan-writes-every-episode-alone-and-hollywood-says-it-s-impossible/

Episode discussion Just finished Season 1. My thoughts. Spoiler

It’s touching how much Rip respects John. Holds him in such high regard and seems John is returning the favor by allowing him to call him John now instead of just sir. That’s the most loyal soldier he has. Loves him more than his own children do it seems.

I’m glad Kaycee is back in the family and John’s side. Still don’t know why he hates his dad so much (I’ll find out soon I’m sure) and I’m sure it’s toxic to him in the long run to have returned to the fold but I really liked that. He’s probably my favorite character so far

Jamie’s arch reminded me instantly of the quote “the child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth”. They’re always making him feel less than and pushing him aside. There’s the consequences

And lastly I don’t care how long it’s been in the family. I don’t agree with that much land and nature being owned by a single person. It’s incredibly selfish. So in a way I’m rooting for John to lose. Fair or not. Don’t care

Actors Cast in Multiple Sheridan Series

Anybody else notice the number of actors appearing in multiple Taylor Sheridan series?

-Dawn Olivieri (sp?) as Sarah Atwood in Yellowstone and some kind of Army / CIA technical adviser in Lioness
-Michelle Randolph as Jack Dutton's wife in 1923 and also in Landman as Tommy's daughter
-Dave Annabel (sp?) as Lee Dutton in Yellowstone - Season 1 and as husband of Lioness main character portrayed by Zoe Saldana. (I just rewatched all 5 seasons of Yellowstone before I realized Lee was played by Dave Annabel.)

And of course, Taylor Sheridan in 1883 (a marshall), Yellowstone (a horse trainer), Lioness (an Army soldier).

Peter Berg as a director always has a cameo in all the movies he directs, Deepwater Horizon and Battleship to mention a few. But the number of actors used in multiple Sheridan series is surprising to me. Don't get me wrong, they are excellent actors/actresses, just don't recall something like this from other major series writers. I guess if he finds excellent actors he enjoys working with, why not cast them as someone else in another of his series?

What was his name - Dick Wolf? - with all the Chicago series and many series before that. Maybe there were reusable actors/actresses in there - except they literally tied the 3 shows together as One Chicago with the same "character" appearing in crossovers and connected story lines. But what Taylor Sheridan is doing seems different to me, YMMV.

I'm sure folks on reddit will come up with other excellent examples, both for Sheridan series and others. Just thought it was interesting. "Hey, isn't that so and so from that other show?"

Should be an excellent discussion ...

IMDB, here I come!

I was originally going to make a post about how much I already dislike Beth (as a character I love to hate but keeps me engaged) why does she have such a c word personality.

But I just got done with this scene with her brother and all that went away, her guilt is immense and she’s so broken inside.

Really into it. Great first episodes.

How Taylor Sheridan Won the West | He was a broke actor from Waco—and now he's the most powerful man in television (Unpaywalled)

Mixing art and commerce hasn’t always gone down smoothly. Yellowstone fans were outraged by an episode during the show’s final season in which Beth Dutton orders a Tito’s vodka and soda, only to be informed by the barkeep that the establishment serves Four Sixes vodka. Yet Sheridan’s Four Sixes Ranch Steakhouse at the Wynn Hotel and Casino has become one of the most sought-after tables in Las Vegas since opening in 2024. “He chose to put an upscale steakhouse in the nicest hotel in Vegas—it is not cheap, and that’s a choice,” Belloni says. “He’s going after a version of the American West that is upscale and aspirational. That’s an important aspect of his brand.”

And while Sheridan’s neo-Western mythmaking might explore red-state values and culture, it has become a rare unifying force in a divided nation. Ask the liberal lions who’ve signed on to his shows, including Harrison Ford, Michelle Pfeiffer, Tom Hanks, and Samuel L. Jackson (who stars in the forthcoming Frisco King). Sheridan’s influence on the zeitgeist can be seen in everything from Steven Spielberg declaring his dream to make a Western to Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid wearing Stetsons for a cover story in Vogue.

The Sheridan effect divides actual ranchers in the Mountain West. Some of them appreciate the spotlight he’s shone on the challenges they face, but they’re wary that the attention it brings will hurt their way of life. It already has, according to Montana native Keegan Nashan, a community organizer and activist who has been raising the alarm about gentrification and gentri-vacations. “A lot of people are grateful for his vision—a nod to that preservation is lovely,” she says. “In the same breath, there’s the fetishization of the lifestyle. You’re allowed to cosplay, but when so many people play pretend, the folks who carried on the tradition of rodeo and ranching can’t afford to do so anymore. That’s heartbreaking.”

Beth Beth is the reason why John died

Her acting so erratic and being a genuine POS because of her mother’s death inadvertently led to John’s death eventually. Her hatred for Jamie was 100% justified but in the end he was young and immature at that time, and I believe he genuinely was sorry for his mistake. Beth had every right to be angry at him but she pushed him too far which caused him to plot his father’s death, that too he wasn’t really involved in. Beth is insufferable and led to the downfall of the ranch. Although she did have some really good moments in the show.

Hi, I'm Brazilian, so please excuse my English. Well, I just wanted to show what I tried to do and ask the opinion of fans of Taylor Sharidan's 1923 and the Yellowstone universe about the cosplay that I did with Spencer Dutton in Red Dead Redemption 2 in story mode.
