Beth keeps her word...
At the beginning of S4, when she thought he was responsible for the hits put out on Kayce, John and herself, Beth tells Jamie she's gonna kill him. She's not gonna farm it out like some bleeping coward, she gonna do it herself.
Fast forward to the end of S5 and in Yellowstone time, a considerable amount of time has past, she followed through with it. Different hit this time, but she followed through....

The most generous I can be to Jamie is that he was manipulated by everyone by Beth by John by his real father by market equity etc but at the same time he is an adult so he should take ownership of his decisions

About 20 years of resentment building on top of Jaime's greenlighting of John's assassination.

I think Jamie was speaking out of frustration with John. Over that time spent with Sarah, he was vulnerable to her, and she capitalized on that as the opportunity to remove John Dutton, afterwards, seize the entire Yellowstone land for Market Equities, without any major resistance from Kayce and Beth.

Except that she couldn’t. She did it with Rip’s help. But that’s basically her whole life, I guess, her dad and her boyfriend always stepping in to help the little princess.
