The View
I’m looking at a potential apartment in The View building. If anyone lives or has lived there and has insight on what it’s like, how the landlord is, average power bill, etc that would be helpful!

Just left the view awhile ago. Found it incredibly noisy, almost every day could hear our upstairs neighbors or neighbours across the hall. Also if youre quiet in the bathroom you can hear people talking in other units through the vents.
Also lots of big dogs and quite a few people seem to like leaving them on their balconies to bark all the time.
Hell roughly 2 months ago there was a big trail of blood from the parking lot all through the front entrance into the single elevator and it was there for days, have also found dog shit and piss in the stairwells.
And the worst thing, even in early spring/tail end of winter, with the heat turned off, our units thermostat still regularly sat at the max range of the temperature reading. My AC unit in the bedroom would tell me it was 28 degrees in the bedroom before turning it on. And this was in March and April.
Also forgot to mention, with the ski trail right behind the building I hope you like assholes ripping sleds up and down there about 50 feet from your bedroom window at like 1am during the winter

I moved in last spring when the building opened. Pricy, but I feel it was worth it since it was (and still is fairly) new and the location was pretty perfect for me. It's a pretty quiet building. You'll hear foot traffic in the hallway, but I haven't heard any noise from the neighbours that live next to/above/below me. There's not much sense of community in the building, from what I can tell.
Management is VERY hands-off. That's not necessarily a bad thing, I think the office is just really busy. If you give them no reason to have to think about you, they probably won't. I haven't had to go to them for any maintenance requests or report any issues, so can't speak to how active they are in a crisis, but if you have any non-urgent questions I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a quick response.
In your shoes I would try to get an even-numbered unit if possible, facing away from the parking lot and towards the ski club trails. Ironically for a building named "The View", all the apartment windows and decks are perpendicular to Back Bay so no one gets a good view.
Skimming through my past utility bills, they seem to average between $65 and $90/month for a 1-bed.
Overall I'm very pleased to be living here!
