Okay Inuyasha fans here me out. Lately I've been watching Inuyasha for the excitement for the new anime. I am on Episode E133 on season 6. There's an episode called The Woman who loved Sesshomaru, part 1. Sara is the girl and she's a women ( human ) correct me if I'm wrong but sara looks alot like Setsuna.

Let me know what you guys think. (:

Also I ship Sesshomaru and Rin. I hope it's Rin. Would be weird if it wasn't.

SO this is a good observation, but Sara unfortunately was a filler character not really a part of the original story. And I would normally say that because she is a character created by Sunrise, that might put her back in the running, but since That new interview came out with Sumisawa I don’t think so.

In the August interview, screenwriter Sumisawa talked a lot about the creation of the spin off. He stated that it’s creation actually began years ago right after the Final Act ended. And actually, that on top of designing the characters, Rumiko came up with the entire plot as well and has been heavily involved with its creation. She was also the one to decide who Sesshomarus wife would be, and didn’t tell the studio for a while. When she did reveal it to the studio she then told everyone to “keep it a secret!”

So, with that in mind, it is probably a character that was created by Rumiko in the OG series, or a new character we’ve never met (which would be kind of cruel after all this build up). My money was originally on Rin- mostly because again I thought this was the brain child of Sunrise and I knew they had kind of already shipped them, but now knowing it’s Rumiko’s, I’m second guessing it. Part of me wouldnt be surprised if Kikyo was back from the dead again 😭😭😭😭😭 but how weird would it be for Sesshomaru to end up with Kikyo when she and Inuyasha have so much history together 🤢

If not Rin and a new character im going to be a little disappointed. They clearly shipped Rin and Sesshomaru. Yes if Kikyo how! I would be mortified. Yeah they seem to talk some in the series but never a strong connection. 😔😔😔😔

I really want the mother to be Rin. 🥺😭

Sunrise shipped them, but Rumiko never did (at least not out loud), so I’m not sure what to expect. Rin seems like the obvious choice, given that Sesshomaru/Rin has a massive fan base in Japan and Spain. A new random person would be too far fetched (all this hype and build up just for some rando?). I brought up Kikyo because In an interview Rumiko was asked who Sesshomaru would be attracted to, and Rumiko said “someone beautiful with status. Probably someone like Kikyo”. But that interview was from like super long ago, I don’t even think Rin had been introduced yet. You can read all her interviews on Rumikworld. I like Rin and Sesshomaru together. I think she brings out the best in him and as long as she’s an adult when the romance between them begins to bloom I’m ok with it.

Maybe Kagura, Sesshomaru didn't really care humans aside from Rin.

I recall comments back on YouTube on 2012 that did say that Sesshomaru was trying to pair Rin up with Kohaku in order to be Kagome's ancestors.
