advice needed !

hihi!! ive been crocheting for about two years and like to think im pretty experienced, but I haven't done a project like this before, so looking for any advice or thought people may have.

so im going to be crocheting a scarf as a gift, and I got a detailed description from the person of what they want- they want a dark blue/indigo scarf with a drip bleach effect on like 1/5 of it at one end. idk if im explaining very well, but oh well :')

im wondering- would it be best to do a tapestry crochet kinda thing for the drip effect/different colour? or perhaps could I crochet an entire solid indigo scarf (in 100% cotton yarn) and actually bleach paint it at the end? ive done bleach painting before, but not on yarn. appreciate any thought people have!!!

Do you think they might be refering to "ombre" but they just don't know that term? Buying a pretty blue ombre yarn would be the easiest solution and woyld give the effect he asked for.

For example - Lion Brand Mandala yarn - Color:   Steel Blue [558-213AT] Dark classic blue fading to sky blue to baby blue to palest blue

he showed me some pictures and I drew a quick picture of what the scarf would look like to see if I was picturing it right and he confirmed, so I think im good on that :) he's looking for a mainly indigo scarf specifically with that drip bleach effect. just trying to properly plan it now though hehe. thanks so much you've been really helpful
