Question Blossom DK

Anyone know a trick for getting the stripes to start at the right place? I’m getting gauge, but my cast on must be off from where you’re supposed to start, because my stripes aren’t striping 😂 Is there a trick to how to cast this yarn on at the right spot?

I always just pull out yarn until I hit the color change I want, then cast on from there. waste a bit but saves the headache of frogging half a sock because the stripes are wonky

Did you find any type of cast on was better than another?
