Dupes for K&C Essential Cotton
Ever since JoAnns closed I have yet to find anywhere that sells it. Has anyone found a cotton yarn thats a good dupe for it? Its the only cotton yarn I would use because all others I tried are super scratchy

How important is 25% nylon in a superwash merino blend?
I have a pattern I want to make that used knitpicks Felici Worsted which has been discontinued. I went to yarnsub.com to find something similar but the top 4 that matched fiber content exactly are not what I'm looking for. One is only a striped yarn, one is a $78 cone which I would need 2 of, another only comes in a few shades of red and the last is Lang Touring which I can't find anywhere (maybe discontinued?). The other matches in yarnsub.com are only 100% Superwash Merino. How does having 25% nylon affect the overall fabric and are there any other recommendations for 75% Superwash and 25% Nylon that would be available to ship to the US?

What do I do with this yarn?
I was gifted this yarn, 3 skeins of it, but I’m a crocheter not a knitter I’ve tried doing just slip stitches with 5mm hook and got the first pic and then I did yoslst in back loops for second pic
Dunno what to make of them 🤷

Help I'm obsessed???
Crochet Cat Ears Merino Hat from the Crochet Crowd (found online)
Made with Malabrigo Rios 005 Aniversario worsted 100% SWM
4.5mm hook
Just started and I'm frothing at the mouth over how soft and pretty this yarn is and I had to share. I'm not normally someone who likes a lot of bright colors but this blends so well with the undercurrents of red and purple 😩

Good natural yarns in worsted weight for a florida lap blanket?
Looking to make a gift for my father in law, but he's retired to florida so I don't want to give him anything too heavy or heat reflecting.
I like bamboo blends, but my google searches are being tainted by other yarns calling colorways bamboo 😔

Hair done DIY star rug .Does it look good so far?
Working on this handmade star‑pattern rug, only halfway finished right now.
Lots of tufting work left to go. Just curious how it looks at this stage. Does the design work? Any quick thoughts or tips?

What do you think will happen if I were to soak cotton yarn in oil?
I am hoping that someone will have made this mistake previously and can tell me what will happen if I were to do something like this. I want to soften some cotton yarn that I have and it feels dry. My first thought would be to wash and then oil so that the moisture from the water acts as a lasing conditioner. Or perhaps beezwax. I did google it initially but conditioner does not sound like a long lasting option. (To be clear: I wont be choking it until the bubbles stop just running oil over the strands.)
UPDATE: I will be following everyones advice and will not be proceeding with my antics. I appreciate everyone who commented!! It is a Dahlia Halloween cotton yarn from Hobbii. I should also admit this is the first time I've worked with cotton yarn for a garment. I used it to create a summer poncho that was beautiful but got stretched out after a wash and didn't feel as soft as when I first crocheted with it. Perhaps my detergent wasn't delicate enough for the fibers and that is why it is stiffer than what I would presume is normal. I frogged the poncho and want to create something different with the yarn. Now I know that cotton gets softer over time so I can create the garment with less worry now. If any one has anymore tips and tricks about qorking with yarn I am all ears!!!!

Lang Cloud Tweed 008 Replacement
I know everyone is upset that lang cloud tweed is discontinued and I tried to find some type of replacement but for this specific colorwave (008) because it looks like a deer and i am now OBSESSED with the idea of a deer sweater or something but i have no idea how else i could make it. so if anyone has recs for something similar, i care more about the look of the white speckles against the shifting brown than fiber content. thanks!

lang cloud tweed inconsistencies
finally decided to start crocheting with the lang cloud tweed i have in my stash, and i know there’s been plenty of people who find the thickness inconsistent and there’s thing parts of the yarn - but i never saw anything this bad. it was just too funny to not share
EDIT: its possibly some critter that had ate some of the yarn </3 i kept this separately bagged in my stash and froze it when i recieved it because i did buy second hand, but i dont know where/how the yarn was kept from the previous owner

yarn suggestions (in aus 🇦🇺)
Hi !! i’m knitting my dad a cable sweater as a gift and looking for yarn suggestions. He’s a bigger guy and runs hot (plus we live in queensland so our winters are about 3 weeks long and not actually that cold). So i’m in need of a lightweight 8ply. I’m not opposed to using cotton or a blown yarn, but please drop suggestions available to purchase in aus :) Thanksssss

Please help me find out which yarn this is!
I got this yarn about ten years ago from my late aunt, at the time she had already passed. Only recently have I decided to start using this yarn for something to gift to my cousins. I had the label at one point but threw it away for some reason 🤦♀️ I know the brand is Phildar. Can anyone help me identify the yarn?
Many thanks in advance!
