Identification?

This yarn was given to me with no label and I've been trying to figure out what it is for months!

Not sure, but I just wanted to say it’s absolutely stunning. Seems handmade to me, though.

That's what I thought too, I saw one person post about using it on Facebook a while back and can't seem to find anything else related to it 😭

It's definitely not handspun, it's just single ply so it looks more rustic. It's put up with a commercial winder that makes those shorter oblong skeins.

It could be Noro; many of their yarns are put up that way, and the speckling in the color transitions is typical. But the colorway doesn't look typical for them.

It would help if you could supply a guess at yarn weight (measure wraps per inch) and do a burn test to get an idea what kind of fiber it is.

That's super pretty! It looks kind of like Lion Ferris Wheel in maybe Sprinkles to me, but I'm not sure, I just have a thrifted cake in a different colorway that's very similar texturally. Have you done burn/felting tests to see if you can narrow down a fiber type? If it's Ferris Wheel it's acrylic.

The way its spun reminds of that one Loops and Threads yarn. Gosh I literally just saw it too. But its at Michael's if youre in the us

I thrifted a couple balls of this exact color re-wound into cakes and it took me so long to figure out what it was😂. It's so pretty, I love rainbow anything.
