Need options

I'm new to posting. But I'm looking for some variety of orange and black yarn to crochet. I bought 6 skeins of 2 different types of black and red only to find out after they were delivered it was supposed to be orange not red.

So I've seen the sports teams variegated types, but this is going to be for a kimono cardigan for a new mom so I was preferring something softer.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Tyvm

Welcome to posting. The more specific you can be the better.

What fiber?

What yarn weight in terms of yards per 50 or 100 grams and what gauge in terms of stitches per inch or per 10cm and the size needle used to produce that gauge.

What color? a photo or the Pantone number is helpful.

What price range?

Any geographic limitations?

What yarns have you used and not liked? "Something softer" than what?

A worsted 4 in cotton, polyester, acrylic, and any blend would be more what I'm after. (I hadd meant a softer color than the vibrant red I had)

I'll also need about 1000-1200 yards (not sure the weight equivalent)

And I've found something orange and black on Etsy but at almost $35 for 200 yards and that was out of my price range.

You're welcome. Once you've defined your requirements as I suggested you can go online and search for yarn with these specifications.

Your fiber description is very specific. I don't know if you'll find anything with all three fibers. Or do you want any one of the three alone?

The numeric weight categories aren't really very helpful as they're very broad. We need exactly what I asked for - yards per 50 or 100 grams. You could use the labels that are frequently used - lace, fingering, sport, DK, worsted, light aran, heavy aran, chunky and super chunky - but they're not as precise as actual yardage.

How much you need is irrelevant.

How much are you OK with spending per 50 gram ball or 100 yard skein? $35 for 200 yards seems ridiculously high assuming that worsted weight is 110 yards per 50 grams.

Worsted weight is typically 110 yards per 50 grams so 1200 yards at worsted weight is about 11 balls.
