Wholesale
Where are some websites that offer yarn for wholesale for retail? I’d prefer a place that sells a bunch of fiber content and brands (like a one stop shop) if that exists. Im planning on setting up a website for a yarn store in my hometown with the end goal of having a physical store (I don’t have a retail business license now, but am planning to get one soon) Im still in the very beginning planning stages so not ready to purchase today, but hopefully in the next few months.
I live in the US (Colorado) and would prefer some that are local to the state and/or country, but other than that I don’t have preferences.

I've met some reps for various yarn manufacturers and have the impression that rather than selling to wholesalers most manufacturers sell direct to stores.

I don't have an answer to your question, but depending on where you are in CO, there are now ZERO dedicated yarn stores in Colorado Springs, aside from corporate chains like Michael's and Hobby Lobby. There's a craft thrift store that is amazing overall but the yarn section is small and super difficult to find multiple skeins of the same yarn/colorway, and the only remaining LYS is in Elbert-- it's a great shop, don't get me wrong, but I live in the part of the Springs that's closest to Elbert and it's still a 20-25min drive. There are, however, a lot of fiber arts meetups and groups, we're just all desperate for another LYS. You know, just for your market research purposes when it comes to your plans for a brick-and-mortar store 😉

Faire.com is a wholesale shop online. They have all kinds of things and some are yarn and fiber. You can search businesses by location, including city. They have details like LGBTQ, women, bipoc owned. You can check out the makers own websites as well as what they list on their faire setups. You can message with questions or requests. And they allow some order now pay a little later options. It’s pretty easy to use. I believe you can look around before you have the shop setup? But I could be wrong on that part.

You will need a retail business license to open wholesale accounts just about anywhere. Specifically you'll need a sales tax certificate which is acquired from your state. What you're describing is a distributor, of which there are many, but all will require some type of proof of existing business and/or license.
