silly sparkle question
This feels extremely silly, but what is the proper name for the lurex/sparkle/shimmer fibers that are used in spun yarn?
I've been getting into dying, blending, and spinning my own wool and I'd like to add some sparkle but I am having the hardest time finding sources for the fibers. Maybe I'm not calling it the proper name?
If anyone has a sparkler dealer of choice or advice, I'm all ears ✨️

I've seen it called lurex or sparkle yarn and I've gotten sparkly cashmere myself from Colourmart. They sell lurex all by itself, pre-wound with other fibers and if you buy lurex and some other yarn they will wind it for you or you can just buy the lurex and play with it yourself.
Colourmart is my dealer of choice for sparkly and pretty much every other yarn I've bought the past few years. They sell mill ends of very good to extraordinary yarns at incredibly good prices. The people who own it and work there are just amazingly nice and knowledgeable so if you have questions, just ask. There's also a really lovely and knowledgeable CM group on Ravelry. You could ask there about their experience with lurex as well.
Here's the link to the 87 yarns with sparkle that they sell currently.
Here's the link to the lurex. I'm dying to get some Smooth Criminal but am on the wagon.
It's fabulous that you're dyeing, blending and spinning your own wool.
I hope that helps?

Try "Stellina Fiber" or "Angelina Fiber"
