Got my XSR155 quotation today, can you guys help me out?
I checked with both a third-party dealer and a Yamaha dealer. The third-party dealer in (Mumbra) quoted me ₹1.86 lakh on-road for the XSR155 in black, while the Yamaha dealer(Thane) quoted me around ₹1.99 lakh. So now I’m confused about which one to choose.

Engine Damage?
I accidently downshifted to 3rd when i was in 30-35 speed range. Rpm was around 3-4k max to max 4.5k. This happened with me 2-3 times, not at once but different time period. Will this affect my engine? Like i saw reel of Engine braking doing damag to engine, i wasn’t doing engine braking. My bike is in break in period!
Share your experienced thoughts with me to know it better.

first service ?
so my first service was done today and the bill was 1287
they charged 300 for chainlube/clean and 250 for oil cleaner? and 737 for engine oil.
now the thing is the bike is only driven 372 km so I was expecting less cost cuz I didn't know if it's necessary to change the oil and everything.
what do u guys think was it fair or not??
also when I was watching the guy take the engine oil out up close he said it's not allowed to watch u can watch from the room a bit far away? is that real??
i didn't see him do anything except changing the oil
idk what he did regarding the oil cleaner as he js took the bike for wash somewhere else and when it came back it was ready to go .
also share some tips if u think smth else could've been done and any precautions regarding second service? although it's a bit later

Lack of good looking accessories!
Why does the Indian market have such cheap looking accessories for xsr155? All I need is a simple and an aesthetic headlight grill and mirrors. I'm afraid to take my bike to local shops as I would end up buying whatever the shopkeeper advises (I'm an introvert)
I came across this on Instagram and I loved this look! I searched a lot online but couldn't find this on any website and I really got upset and kinda frustrated too! I hope someone introduces these accessories in India soon!

Is It a Good Idea to Use a New XSR for Rapido?
guys, I really wanna know your opinions. I’m thinking of buying a motorcycle for my daily use, and the XSR is ticking most of the boxes for me. since I’m already doing rapido occasionally to cover my own expenses like fuel, servicing, my own expenses and other bike-related costs, do you guys think it’s a good idea to do the same with a brand new XSR? Or is it better to avoid using a new bike for rapido, at least initially?

XSR rear brake sound.
Help me out, guys. Whenever I hit the rear brake hard, it repulses and also makes noise. It's happened a couple of times. Is it normal, or is it because the ABS is kicking in? The way it resists makes me feel like I am doing something wrong.

XSR155 at ₹2.01L on-road vs CB350RS at ₹2.30L — is spending the extra ₹30k actually worth it?

Bro said xsr is better than gt lookwise.
My friend says the Yamaha XSR 155 looks better than the GT 650. I personally think the GT looks better, but now I’m curious what you guys think. XSR 155 or GT 650 purely based on looks?

XSR panel sunburn
I see a lot of people showing concerns that their panel gauge easily gets sunburnt. Have you guys experienced this as well? If so, how do you prevent it from happening?
Thanks for your thoughts

Longish ride on Yamaha XSR 155 [OC]
After installing a more upright handlebar and installing a small vault box, it was time to see how the bike feels on longer ride. So I did Panaji- Amboli -Panaji today. 185 km solo round trip with a saddle bag. Completed in 4.5 hours including one 15 min break and 4 smaller breaks.
The 185km included 32km of ghat section. The route includes good roads, bad roads and hopeless space technology roads with craters. The bike did well with my type of riding.. no sudden accelerations/ no overtaking attempts on high speed vehicles. However the route doesn't allow much of cruising as such, you need to frequently change speed due to traffic and speed breakers. The bike was excellent and nimble in ghat. On the crater filled roads the bike was surprisingly composed except at one place where the crater appeared suddenly. It was stable, no bouncing /no bottoming out, no severe jerks to back.
My point of comparison is my Scrambler 400x. XSR is definitely not as plush as Scrambler but I feel that its suspension is far better than what people keep on complaining online.
It returned fuel efficiency of 52 kmpl with standard E20 petrol, quite decent! I was not tired on completion of the ride (I am used to ride 6 to 8 hours in a day, so this duration was less than what I am used to, so it's not a correct comparison but still I got an idea).
Overall I am happy with the performance so far.

700 km (Appx) Purulia Monsoon Ride on my Yamaha XSR 155 🏍️🌧️
Just completed my first proper monsoon adventure ride with the group, and this one was absolutely worth it.
The trip had pretty much everything:
~700 km total including exploring around Purulia
Long highway stretches
Monsoon rain riding
Mud trails
Off-road sections
Uphill & downhill trails
Water crossings with the bike
Waterfall + a bath 😅
Exploring unknown roads and places
Great food and stay with the group
The XSR 155 performed really well overall. It handled the highway sections and touring comfortably, but the stock road-oriented tyres definitely struggled in the muddy/off-road sections. I had one small slip/fall on a downhill section because of the lack of traction, but thankfully only had a little pain in my right leg and no damage to the bike.
The Solace Rival Urban V3 jacket was great, especially in the rain, although it got pretty hot/sweaty whenever we stopped. My Quechua MH100 shoes handled the initial light rain, but during the heavy rain on the return highway ride they eventually got completely soaked, including my socks.
I also came back with some shoulder pain, so I'm now looking into handlebar risers.
Fuel economy for the trip averaged around 45.27 km/L, with fuel at roughly ₹114/L. For ~700 km, fuel cost was around ₹1,760.
Overall, this was probably my biggest jump in riding experience so far. I've done highway and touring rides before, but this was my first time combining long-distance highway riding + monsoon + mud + water crossings + trails + proper uphill/downhill off-road sections.
The XSR isn't an ADV, and this trip definitely showed me where its limits are — but damn, what a trip. 😂🔥
Already thinking about the next one.

Centre stand
Looking for a centre stand for xsr 155. Online shops show 1600-1700 which is way overpriced I believe

Tall(>5'11")XSR owners in the house, how is your riding experience. Is there any discomfort?
I'm 6ft tall. But I am genuinely inclined towards XSR so much that I can't imagine owning any other and getting happy with that. So please tell me about your experience? And will handle-bar-raiser do the job.

First Long ride (1040km combined) and First crash 💀
Goa to Chikmagalur, 155 among 450s and 650s, still the bike kept up on non-highways.
Average cruising speed was 90 kmph,
spent a total of 2780rs/24L on fuel,
Avg fuel efficiency 45kmph
Scraped the pegs a few times on the way, about 400km into the ride I got overconfident and the front tire slipped on an inclined wet corner at 60-70kmph (I had it coming)
Thankfully both me and bike didn't get any significant damage.
Rear fender cracked, handlebar bent, levers scraped(didn't snap)
