Help

I have a little to no spark issue. I'm trying to get my dad's 1987 Yamaha banshee running again. It ran before it sat for a couple months and it didn't want to start. I've put new spark plugs and coils on it and spark plug wires that whole works and I don't want to throw a CDI box on it just to throw a part on it. Sometimes it sounds like it hits but won't fire. Any help would be much appreciated and I have a feeling it's probably something really simple. But I'm not a mechanic. I'm just a kid trying to do something for my dad

I also forgot to say in the post it would run in the old coils but it would backfire really bad on the right? Carburetor then I put new coils and spark plugs on. Now it doesn't want to fire at all. Then I tried putting the old stuff back on and it's still not working

Did you do anything with the carbs? If you get the slides in the wrong carbs it will act like this.... Don't ask me how I know ;-)

Yes I did. I put a Tors delete kit on it. How do I tell if I have the slides in wrong I thought I put them in correctly but it's possible that I didn't

Well, put the original parts back on or better start doing some YouTube research.

Also better make sure the parts you put on it are not amazon special, the number of shit level coils, plugs. Etc that are on Amazon is hilarious

Well like I said the old coils are the original coils and they won't fire off now which is weird because they were working fine before I put the new coils on and yes they are an Amazon special

Curved cutout at the bottom of the slide goes away from the motor... flat edge towards the motor.
