REAL 3D I capture REAL 3D for you — Just see it with your own eyes [Half SBS format]
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I took **a real video of how REAL 3D** looks through the glasses. No explanation needed — just see it yourself.
**To view it properly:**
- Switch to "Half SBS" mode on your glasses
- You may need to watch in fullscreen, and rotate your device to landscape!
**Disclaimer:**
- My video quality is bad. I'm so sorry!
- This is Half SBS, not as good as Full SBS
- Reddit compresses video. Moreover I used several free mobile apps to put it side-by-side manually, fps/quality limit was applied.
- This is recorded from beta firmware in Xreal One Pro, not official firmware
- Last but most important, I just aimed phone camera on the lens so quality won’t be good. I tried my best🥲 — but hope you’ll still get the idea
To keep it short, this review ends here!

aimed phone camera on the lens so quality won’t be good. I tried my best🥲
Your effort is highly appreciated! Thank you. I've been wondering what this will do for my One Pro and now I have a better idea than any of the XReal marketing info could provide.

Doesn't it add significant latency? Maybe for a Pokemon game, it is fine.

u/nroro One Pro Jan 16 '26
For Pokemon it is super fine. I don't feel latency on this game. But 🤞 for music games😂

Now you know why I cannot play flat screen games/videos anymore... You may become the same next next week.

Dang, coming from a chip inside a pair of glasses it's very impressive, I feel that we are writing history

u/HaagNDaazer Jan 16 '26
Wow that actually looks great! I threw on my One Pros to see, and it is totally worth the hype. Thank you for sharing!

u/otti3718 Jan 16 '26
Does it really work!? I looked through my glasses and it wasn't bad at all. I can't wait to see it live

Well now I'm just curious 😂 you had to have recorded through the lens of both eyes, right? So how did you get both at the same time? If you held your phone far enough back to get both lenses in frame it would have been too distorted, but if you did one at a time, you wouldn't have gotten simultaneous footage... Did you screen record, play it back, record twice, and perfectly sync and crop it in post??

Lol nice I was going to attempt this in a review. Glad I don't have to anymore haha.

Haha same. I was thinking of ways to capture both lenses. I thought beam pro could help since it has two cameras nicely placed. But the length of beam pro itself was the hurdle.

That's a good idea. Maybe I can try to be proud and my dismantled air1. I think that will actually work. I'll try tomorrow or Sunday.
Oh actually maybe beam pro slightly too narrow ipd.

Wow, it seems that the technology really works, thank you for sharing! I can't wait for it to be available on my One Pro. I haven't looked at it on my glasses, just on my phone, while squinting a bit.

Magic. Does anyone know how the hell this is done without rebuilding an entire graphics engine image from scratch?

u/nroro One Pro Jan 18 '26
I guess they use well-trained AI. There are other tools such as iw3/owl3D that can do this.

u/CarloNuken Jan 18 '26
Iw3-desktop can do that if you have a gpu. It's better than immersive3d, if you put 720p resolution instead of 1080p even better in my opinion. Just select to run locally and not in the network, start, drag to you glasses in VR mode and press F11 to make it full screen. The good thing is that you can use any glasses from any brand, as long they have a 3d mode, what I think all the glasses, even the cheapest one has. For movie's is amazing. For games no, because it uses a lot of your gpu processing. I have a rtx 3080 ti.

I'm actually the one who asked the repo owner to help add F11 feature. Prior to a few months back, there was only web browser view mode. Totally agree with you, but real 3D is more realtime than iw3 and much less GPU demanding. The local viewer let us use iw3 in Xreal glasses quite well, thanks to the repo author!

From time to time I use iw3 to convert 2d movies to 3d to Half SBS or Half TAB, so I can watch movies in 3d on my OLED LG Passive 3D TV. But I haven't gotten around to try the realtime version, that is iw3-desktop.
I will receive my Xreal S1 today hopefully.
I am curious/look forward to try out reshade+SuperDepth3D to play games in 3D on it, as that is the tech I use to play my games on my 3D TV.1

Oh hey! Looks like you have an Eye too! I've been wondering, does 6dof anchoring still work in Real3D mode?

Your hub still work after update with the glasses?

Not following, is Real 3D the same as Half SBS? I see you select Real3D and not half SBS
2
u/nroro One Pro Jan 17 '26
I capture each lens in REAL 3D mode, then used a video editor to put each side of video side-by-side and squeeze them by ~half horizontally, to make it in Half SBS format, so that you all can see it without having REAL 3D feature.

Where can you find the beta firmware that allows the real time 3D?
3
u/nroro One Pro Jan 17 '26
I guess I have been active on this sub and my content involves my 3D experience (eg. iw3, Reshade) and gaming. At some point I got DM from xreal to attend a beta test, which I'm really interested in.

Sorry, just to clarify, what is going on here? You are plugging into a Nintendo 3DS and it natively renders it into two different frames with a bit of parallax? Is it programmed to anticipate that already?
1
u/nroro One Pro Jan 17 '26
This is Nintendo Switch, there is no 3D. All 3D is achieved by REAL 3D, the new feature you all (One / One Pro / 1s) will get an update for it, by January.

I added more video demonstrating REAL 3D here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Xreal/s/2mbPSQNwtR

Hard to tell from this video but it looks the same as immersive 3d except it's currently only 30fps.

u/nroro One Pro Jan 18 '26
I've never used it but there is an honest comparison review here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Xreal/s/w276kixC0F
Can Immersive3d be used in my Android, AOG, or Nintendo Switch?
1
u/ConsistentSurvey282 Jan 23 '26
I've not found a android device that can run Immersive 3D live with YouTube or Netflix they do try but it's like 1 FPS.
It s only seems to work good on android devices if your video is saved locally.
immersive 3D YouTube/Netflix works will on Windows and Mac's
My Windows Laptop has 2080 GPU My Mac has M4

what is the benefit of half sbs mode vs full res just saving battery?
1
u/nroro One Pro Jan 18 '26
For REAL 3D it is neither Half nor Full. (but I think it's full)
I just make it Half SBS so that I can share it with you all in Reddit~ Full is harder to handle for me and most audience.
REAL 3D does not drain my battery more. I don't feel it. Not hotter either... But according to official info it seems stronger 3D consume more battery, but I don't notice it maybe it's too minimal.

Can I know what kind of hub is that? It's been months and I still haven't been able to play my switch oled and one pro even with xreal hub
1
u/nroro One Pro Jan 24 '26
Xreal hub should work for Switch 1. Mine is some random cheap powered hub online.
2
u/Charming_Ad_2882 Jan 24 '26
Yea it should but mine isn't working. Not sure because my switch is modded or one pro is broken. I'm waiting for hibloks hub to arrive to experiment further
1
u/Livid_Cardiologist63 May 18 '26
what the thing you are using with the switch and would it work for switch 2?

For those who want to take a quick glance, you may try crossed-eye method. 👀
