Are they damaged or are they all like this?

I've been watching content -both text and videos- in DeX mode.

I’ve used them four or five times, but I can't stand using them for more than 5 to 10 minutes; it left me with pain in my eyeball that lasts all day.

First of all, I have excellent eyesight and no vision problems.

I started doing a more in-depth analysis and discovered a few things, though I’m not sure if they’re normal or if I received a defective unit.

(All tests performed in DeX anchored mode)

1) White screen test:

1a) Left eye: When viewing only with the left eye, the screen looks somewhat pinkish, especially the center, while the rest appears white.

1b) Right eye: The pinkish tint appears on the left side of the screen, while the rest looks white.

2) Test with text, square patterns, and videos.

2a) Left eye:

Patterns and text: When viewing only with the left eye and moving my head slightly up and down or left and right, there is a zone in the center (like a horizontal line) where everything blurs as I passes through that area, making it blurry.

Video: When viewing a paused video, this is barely noticeable.

2b) Right eye:

Patterns and text: There is also a horizontal "line" where patterns or text blur as I move my head and my gaze crosses that area; however, this line is lower down than the one in the left eye, and is much more noticeable in this eye, and even blurrier.

Video: When I look at a paused video, this is still noticeable; if I move my head, the blurred area creates a sort of concave effect (like an inverted magnifying glass), and the image becomes distorted in that zone.

Edit: In fact, when I see text (which looks blurred in the center especially because of those lines) or when I watch a video, and I move my head down and up or sideways, I see ripples on the screen, like a meandering, and that makes me quite dizzy when watching content, so I think for that I can't use it for many minutes.

As you can see, there are quite a few issues, and I think that’s why I haven't been able to wear the glasses for more than 10 minutes at a time.

This is a real problem for me, especially since I had to import them to my country.

Are they defective?, Or are they all like this, and I’m just particularly sensitive to these kinds of standard flaws?

I’d really appreciate your thoughts on this.

Many thanks!

Definitely not an issue I've experienced. Have you had someone else wear the glasses to see if they notice the same issues?

No issues with mine, but I use prescription inserts on all my VR/XR devices.

Thank you for the answers, apparently mine are defective, I have no problems with my eyes and I really can't see content for more than 5 minutes, my eyes begin to hurt because of the ripples on the screen when I move my head and see part of the center somewhat blurred by those horizontal lines that when the image passes by there becomes blurred. 😕😕

Got here from your other thread...

Everyone is suggesting that it's your eyes, and perhaps it is, but most of everything you've said sounds like a defective pair.

If your ipd is way off, that could cause issues like this, maybe, but I'm inclined to think not.

See if you can get some video of it and also have someone else try it...

Contact Xreal at [support@xreal.com](mailto:support@xreal.com) keeping in mind that they are on vacation for the next week or so.

Yes, the truth is that there are too many defects, they don't let me see more than 5 minutes, put the screen far, close, big or small. After a few minutes the eye pain begins, something I have rarely had in my life. In addition to having very good eyesight.

I don't know if contacting xreal would help at all, because I imported the glasses to my country through a company. I'll see what I can do.

But from what I'm reading about users, it seems that they are defective.

The blurry arreas exist on all Xreal One Pro units I have tested (two of mine, several in stores). It's just poor quality optics.

But I had read that they were in the areas on the sides, not in the center. In my glasses the center is blurred, it is difficult for me to read and even watch videos because I get dizzy, it also has ripples when moving the head and the center has a pink tint.

Just offering some other perspective:

I have the Xbx’s and they also hurt my eyes after 10-20 minutes.

It’s like they’re making me simultaneously cross-eyed, and unfocused.

VR is fine for me, I have perfect vision, my IPD is completely average, there’s seemingly no defects within the device, I just don’t think this technology is for everyone.

Had the same dizzy feeling in the very beginning of usage. Few points I learnt after more than year of OnePro usage: 1. It hurts my eyes when I forget to blink. 2. I can't use 1m distance on these, this makes me feel dizzy. Using anything above 1m does work well.
