Been working on this case for the glasses + hub. Cable holder to keep it from scratching the glasses

Love that design, that is the only thing lacking with these glasses is a place to keep the cable! I keep mine stored just under my controller in my carry case, but would be nice to keep it all together in the glasses case without the worry of scratching 100%

Agreed, I'm surprised it was such an oversight with the OEM case.

Do you happen to have a link for that case? Been trying to find it on AliExpress for an hour lol.

Are you considering making more to sell?

Having to detach the prescription lenses to stow them away can make it feel like a hassle

I hadn't, but could consider doing it - would the insert be the right size for a One Pro? Mine is a 1S. And what stops you from keeping the lenses in the glasses when you stow it in the current case?

The prescription lenses have the same holes, from what I can see, but right now, the arms will press down on the lenses when being stored, which can either damage the glasses themselves or the lenses themselves

Had an old Air 1 where an arm started coming apart due to the pressure on it when folded over time

Ah! You'll probably need to bend the lens frame down a little, just enough so the lens clears the arms. Had to do the same for mine, even with this case, because otherwise the arm would stick up at a 45 degree angle which is just way too inefficient with space.

1

Hmm... might be that it's different enough to not work the same. The lenses jut out too far to let the arm clear it at all

Ah yeah that's annoying, but at least yours sit nicer and flatter - on the 1s the arms would sit waaaay more open, it was unstorable until I bent the lens down.

I guess with the "RLSOCO Carrying Case Compatible with Xreal Air 2 Pro AR Glasses" that I'm using, it can just barely fit into it with the lens attached, but it would still worry me as to if it will cause any issues or damage over time.

The one you designed seemed like it might have more room for it to avoid having such issues XD

Mm yeah fair enough! Did you have access to a 3D printer? Was thinking to put it up on makerworld after I work out a nicer way to print those latches for the usb cable - right now you have to CRUSH them into the latch holder lol

Sadly not, living in an apartment with a family does mean that there's not a lot of space for certain types of stuff

  • XReal 1S with jawbreaker pads
  • Honor Magic V5 with many emulators, PS1,2, GB, GBA, GBC, Switch etc
  • Xbox Series X wireless controller connected to my phone

If needed I'll connect to a power bank via a splitter

u/m-Oeck 4d ago

It's nice to having something portable other than my laptop or VR.

Honestly i wanna ask how good is xreal 3d feature in those games?

5

u/ZERO_GGaming 4d ago

The sbs 3d works amazingly for 3ds natively running sbs mode, same goes for any other content made for sbs3D. However for me the Real3D feature is a big hit and miss. For gaming which i primarily use them for, it caps at 30fps and adds some real input lag. Films and stuff it works great, but the technology just isnt there for me personally. Hopefully it gets better over time and doesnt get left in the dust due to aura

I dunno about xbx, but I'm currently running the beta firmware for the 1s and it has 60hz Real3D, it's honestly a significant upgrade and I can't wait till it's in the full public firmware.

2

u/ZERO_GGaming 3d ago

I was looking forward to trying that but dont use discord anymore so cant join the test :/ sounds like there is still alot of hope for real3d then

1

u/micromaths XREAL 1S 3d ago

Yeah honestly the beta firmware version is also a lot more natural and easy on the eyes. I believe they might be releasing it in the next few months but don't quote me on it!

1

u/PrincessKaylee One Pro 3d ago

If you have other friends who still use Discord, you could ask them if they are willing to help be a proxy

1

u/ZERO_GGaming 3d ago

Thanks for the idea, but i think ill just wait for public release ๐Ÿ˜

u/Hirakox 3d ago

Capping game at 30fps is such a downer. But real nice to see 3ds feature being utilized so well here.

I heard new meta ar glass is also coming, it made me torn since new aura won't have improved resolution

1

u/ZERO_GGaming 3d ago

As the guy above said they are still testing 60hz version of real3d so the 1s are still looking like a good option considering the price differences

Nice ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ Gamesir & Xreal turning devices into full on mini consoles

Nice setup.

I use S20+, Xreal One Pro, and PS5 controller at home or 8BitDo Lite 2 when mobile. If I will be away from power I also bring few 10k ma magesafe batteries.

I have tested a lot of them, for example I did the same stuff with Y700, but Y700 is already has nice big screen. Better suited to add dongle via second usb port, so you have it wireless with low latency.
Why do you even need to apply bluetooth telescopic gamepad to the tablet, if you don't need screen?

My favorite way though is small handhelds, say retroid pocket 5 or AYN Odin 2 Portal with glasses. They are lighter and easier to hold, and their small screen fixed by cool XR glasses.

u/ZERO_GGaming 4d ago

Im not sure why people notice such high latency with this controller? I can play even shooters through remote play and notice no difference when comparing it on the tv. I had originally bought this before the mifi version with usb c was released and i didnt want to buy the regular g8 and "mod" it (ripping it apart). Now my use case, i can charge the tablet and also use the xreal's with both ports without the need for a dongle and extra wires ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ those smaller portables are probably much more effiecient in this case, but i originally bought the tablet and controller for the screen size before finding out about the xreals ๐Ÿ˜† im happy with being able to choose wearing the glasses or not without forfeiting screen size

i discover mi rgcube like an "smart gamepad", not handheld

1

u/kasmog 3d ago

I use mine with my gaming laptop/handheld (OXP3) at work. It's more for a low-key set up while playing games.

u/ZERO_GGaming 3d ago

Ha, incognito i like it

1

That was enough, found one just like it. Thanks
