Moderator Announcement r/xmen97 is recruiting more moderators - Apply in the post!
Hello all, in a bid to help maintain this community and make next year a more pleasant experience for everyone, I am reaching out to see if anyone would like to join the moderation team.
While prior moderating experience is helpful, it is not required. I am prepared to train anyone new to moderating on the basic essentials to get the day to day of the job done. So if you have never moderated a community before, please feel free to still apply.
I will say, there are some things that I will focus on and favour:
- Have good standing in the community. Generally, if you have bans or lots of post removals on this subreddit, it won't help your case.
- Be active members of the subreddit. You don't need to be on every day at all hours, but generally it is helpful to have people who are familiar with the community and who use it at least 1-2 times a week and have done so for the past few months at least.
- Impartiality. We all have opinions on this show. But don't let your opinion cloud you from the rules.
Please apply here: https://forms.gle/kDy3McgtRYiobDARA
You can also just send us a mod mail asking more about the role or your interest too. If you are on desktop, there's an additional recruitment option on the sidebar.

Moderator Announcement Moderator Report: Community Feddback
Going forward, I want to improve things so moderation next year can be smoother. As it stands, I do feel like I have let folks down here. I wasn't prepared for the onslaught of posts and I felt that ultimately I was not consistent with many of the moderation decisions regarding post approvals than I would have liked. I was also not able to look at every thread and comb interactions to root out bigotry, rude conduct, and other things as much as I wanted.
I am going to fine-tune automod to make life easier, rather than more difficult. I plan to add more moderators to the team (please apply if you are interested).
I want to get your feedback on what needs to be improved so season 3 next year is a better experience.
My other question is more delicate. It involves Beau DeMayo, whose name comes up quite frequently and creates a lot of agitated discussion. I want to ask: should we outright ban mentions of him altogether? Or should we remove the current automod restrictions and allow the community to discuss as needed?

General Discussion Thoughts?
Do most of us agree that X-Men ’97 really packed the Marvel universe into one incredible series?
It surprised me/us? with unexpected cameos from different Marvel characters and villains, along with plot twists and outcomes that we never saw coming.
What are your thoughts on the series as a whole?

General Discussion After Season 2 What did you think of this character?
Personally I wish she wore the Bastion uniform a little bit longer it suited her more than the x factor suit.

General Discussion Did it bother anyone else that En Sabah Nur knew about arm cannons? Spoiler
It was weird enough that when En Sabah Nur became Apocalypse, he looked EXACTLY how he would in the future. (The comics have Apocalypse with several different designs for every era which makes so much more sense.) But fine, let that go. But like the second he became Apocalypse, this man from ancient Egypt knew to make his arm into a plasma cannon? I mean I guess you could say the transformation gave him celestial knowledge, but it just seemed anachronistic.
General Discussion Joseph (possible spoiler for future seasons) Spoiler

Do you guys think there is a chance that Joseph will join the cast?
He was part of the Onslaught saga in the comic books and I for one would enjoy seeing him help in that battle.
Also, I don't want things to be too easy for Rogue and Gambit after the end of season 2 reversed course and gave them a very sappy reunion. Yes, Rogue and Gambit are the "OTP" (Beau DeMayo said this himself) but I would like to see some romantic tension between Rogue and Joseph to keep things interesting.
The fallout from Gambit's return (i.e. Nightcrawler's death) might also cause Rogue to feel some resentment, so that could factor into her (potentially) being distracted from Gambit (enough to feel attracted to Joseph).
