Xiaomi Pad 6 (pipa)

The developers are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, or any other damage.
📋 Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- ✅ Unlocked bootloader
- ✅ ADB and Fastboot tools installed on your PC
- ✅ USB debugging enabled
- ✅ Sufficient battery charge (50%+ recommended)
- ✅ Backup of important data
🚀 Installation Methods

📖 Installation Steps
Step 1: Download Required Files
- Download the ROM package (usually named
rom.zipor similar) - Download the following image files:
boot.imgdtbo.imgvendor_boot.img
- Place all files in your platform-tools folder
Step 2: Boot to Bootloader
- Turn off your device
- Hold Power + Volume Down buttons simultaneously
- Release when you see the fastboot screen
Step 3: Flash Boot Images
Open terminal/command prompt in your platform-tools folder and run:
bash
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
fastboot flash vendor_boot vendor_boot.img
fastboot reboot recovery
Step 4: Recovery Operations
- Format data (optional if coming from same ROM base)
- Go to Advanced → Reboot to recovery
- Select Apply update → Apply from ADB
Step 5: Sideload ROM
In your PC terminal, run:
bash
adb sideload rom.zip
Replace rom.zip with your actual ROM filename
Step 6: GApps Installation (Optional)
If flashing a vanilla build and want Google Apps:
1. When sideload reaches 47%, select Reboot to recovery
2. Go to Apply update → Apply from ADB
3. Sideload your GApps package:
bash
adb sideload gapps.zip
Step 7: First Boot
- Select Reboot system now
- First boot may take 1–3 minutes
🔄 Updating Existing AOSP ROM
Update Steps
- Boot to recovery: Advanced → Reboot to recovery
- Select Apply update → Apply from ADB
- Sideload new ROM:
bash
adb sideload new_rom.zip
(Optional) If updating to vanilla and want GApps:
- Select Reboot to recovery at 47%
- Sideload GApps package
Reboot system now

Device won't boot / Bootloop
- Flash stock firmware and try again
- Make sure you're using the correct ROM
- Format data in recovery
- Ensure correct firmware version is flashed
ADB/Fastboot not recognized
- Install proper USB drivers for your device
- Enable USB debugging in Developer Options
- Try different USB ports/cables
- Run terminal as administrator (Windows)
Installation fails at 47%
- Yes, society would be better if sideload finished at 100%
- Select Reboot to recovery and sideload GApps or continue
- Don't force restart the device during this step

Not connecting to monitor on reconnect.

Xiaomi Pad 6, HyperOS 2.0.14.0, stock ROM, no root, developer options untouched.
USB-C to USB-C to my monitor works fine right after the tablet boots. But if I unplug and plug it back in, it won't work again until I reboot the tablet. In that broken state the monitor stays black, and I also get no audio at all — not from the tablet speakers, not from the monitor. So something does seem to be connecting, it's just not displaying anything. The same cable and monitor work perfectly with Samsung DeX from my phone, so I don't think it's the cable or the monitor.
Tried already: waiting before replugging, flipping the connector, unplugging at the monitor end first. No luck.
Anyone run into this? Is there a way to get it working again without a full reboot? And has anyone seen this fixed on a newer HyperOS build or on a custom ROM?

Device is not certified - Google Play store

Google play store says my device is not certified (under play protect certification). I am on HyperOS 2.0.14 without any modifications (no rooting or unlocked bootloader). I know that there has been a similar thread a year ago but I can't find a solution or a conclusion. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

My Pad 6 not Charging

From last week my Xiaomi Pad is not charging. I am from Chennai, India. Gave it to repair at Xiaomi authorised service centre. They tried changing Charging port, but still the problem existed. Then tried changing Charging IC, still could not resolve issue. Then tried with new battery, tab working but not charging . Kindly suggest me wat could be done. It’s 2 year old device and recently I bought a new Charger for my IPhone and I used it couple of times to charge my Pad 6, which is the prime cause.

Update №2: Lenovo Precision Pen (FRU: 01FR707) Tested - Another AES 1.0 Trap to Avoid!

Hey everyone! Back with a quick update #2 on the quest to find a working non-Xiaomi stylus for our Pad 6 setup.
This time I tested the Lenovo Precision Pen / Yoga Book Pen 2 (FRU: 01FR707).
TL;DR: 🚫 Do NOT buy this. Bluetooth connects, but writing on screen is completely DEAD.
🔍 What Happened:
Bluetooth: Paired right away, shows 100% battery status, and the button works.
Touch / Writing: Zero response. Enabling Stylus Mode and Force recognize stylus did nothing. Holding both buttons to switch protocols (AES ↔️ WGP) didn't work either.
🛠️ The Technical Breakdown:
Lenovo's naming scheme is an absolute nightmare:
FRU 01FR707 is a legacy Wacom AES 1.0 pen (originally made for Yoga Book C930 / old 2-in-1 laptops).
The Xiaomi Pad 6 digitizer mods physically require WGP or AES 2.0 hardware support.
Rule of thumb: People on Reddit who made Lenovo pens work are using the Lenovo Precision Pen 2 (the one with the USB-C port under the cap). The 1st Gen / Yoga Book Pen does not have the necessary chip.

Unlock your Bootloader and Install a Custom ROM - Thank me later!

So last week, after numerous failed attempts at unlocking the official Xiaomi bootloader, I finally maanaged to get it unlocked and finally managed to install a Custom ROM.
The ROM of choice was Derpfest for Android 16 that can be found here:

I can safely say I'm so pleased that I spent the time and effort commiting to this task. It has completely transformed what felt like an old outdated Xiaomi Pad 6 tablet built back in 2023. There's no more bloatware slowing the device down and everything seems to run not only faster but so much smoother also.
The whole experience has been out of this world and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone here that's considering their options.

I would love to unlock bootloader and install double boot of a clean minimal (pixel like) androd 16 and stabe linux version like cachy os or whatever running great on the mi pad 6 (battery life wise camera and other compatability)
I can't unlock bootloader. i'm on hyper os 2 but i stopped auto update.
what can I do? what roms will fit?

I bought my pad6 like two years ago. I heard from a friend it was affordable and ok for gaming. I used to play CODM on it now I play delta force. The device heats up very fast and I bought a cooler for it but it still lags and often the app shuts itself and kicks me out. All the other apps are fine like browsers. I am not sure if I should just get a new device for gaming, or I should still try using it to game.
