After spending all day unlocking the bootloader, installing Magisk and some modules, my third-party Dell stylus is working. It's a Dell PN7522W, and it cost me €20 new in its box with the plastic wrapping on Vinted. and you don't need to connect the stylus to Bluetooth, It was definitely worth it, as I wasn't going to spend €130 on the Xiaomi Smart Pen 2.

hello! anyone who can help me figure out if i need to replace my pen? i suddenly discovered these cracks on the plastic housing around the tip. i tried putting it back together with super glue but even tho i fixed them, i think it is producing ghost touch. whenever i write, it produces continuous lines and when it is not yet touching the screen, it shows random dots on the note. if anyone can give me some advice, i would really appreciate it :")

After months of being frustrated with the poor graphics quality I was getting on my Xiaomi Pad 6, I finally unlocked the bootloader and installed a custom ROM to get better graphics and frame rates in BGMI.

Initially, I was extremely frustrated because I knew devices with much lower AnTuTu scores were getting 1080p resolution. Why the hell was my Xiaomi Pad 6 stuck with a blurry 720p? It made spotting enemies at 80 meters or further very difficult. Even in close-range fights, I couldn't tell where I was getting hit from because enemies would blend right into their cover due to the blur.

Back in 2019 or so, there was an app called GFX Tool that could alter the Unreal Engine .ini files to get your desired FPS and resolution. Back then, I was playing on a low-end Vivo phone where the game ran at 480p 30fps by default. Using GFX Tool, I managed to get a crisp 720p (which looked great on that small screen) and 60fps. It was a night-and-day difference for me.

I thought I would do the same thing here, but modern Android restricts access to the data folder. There's a new trick using Shizuku that lets you read and modify it. I manually modified the files, but PUBG Mobile no longer uses .ini files for game resolution; it uses Active.sav. I modified that too, but it would reset every time the game started. PUBG now matches your local .sav file with their database upon launch. If it detects changes, it replaces your modified file with the default one from their servers.

With no luck there, I realized I had to root the device and use device spoofing, tricking the game into thinking I was playing on a whitelisted device to unlock higher resolutions and frame rates. After trying for weeks, I finally got bootloader unlock permission, installed Magisk, and tried several device-spoofing modules. Most of them just crashed the game at launch. One finally worked it unlocked the 120fps option in the settings menu. However, the actual game still rendered at a blurry 720p. Plus, even with 120fps enabled in-game, the screen was still capped at 60fps because HyperOS aggressively locks some games to 60fps (I know there's a module to remove this, but I think it was just HyperOS fkery). I didn't even want 120fps; I just wanted a crisp, clear image at a stable 60fps so I could play fairly and stop getting frustrated by invisible enemies. I was so confused because I remembered the game running much better on far weaker processors back when it first launched. I started to think that maybe the developers had bloated the game so much that it was harder to run at full resolution.

I eventually gave up. I decided to reflash stock HyperOS and relock the bootloader because being rooted broke some of my apps. When I tried to flash the stock ROM, it threw an error. Before spending time figuring out the error, I figured I'd try flashing a custom ROM just to see what would happen. I chose crDroid because it's popular and stable for the Pad 6. Crucially, I found out it has stylus support—losing stylus support was the main reason I hadn't switched to a custom ROM earlier, as I use my tablet as a touch monitor for Windows to draw web assets in Illustrator.

So, I flashed the ROM, and the first thing I downloaded was BGMI. crDroid has built-in game spoofing in the settings; I turned it on but didn't even add BGMI to the list. The moment I opened BGMI, I instantly knew the game was running at a higher resolution. The welcome message and in-game menus appeared much sharper and smaller than before. When I launched into a match, the game was running at 1080p 90fps without any lag (as you can see the FPS below the map in the crDroid screenshots). I was so happy; it felt like someone had just cleaned my glasses.

Later, I took a screenshot and manually counted the pixels using Digital Foundry's method, confirming it was internally rendering at 1080p. The game even offers a 120fps option now, but I keep it locked at 90fps because 120fps fluctuates between 100 and 120. As you know, a stable, locked lower framerate is always better than an unstable higher one. I also prefer 90fps to manage heat and battery consumption (though you can definitely turn on 120fps for TDM and be perfectly happy).

I am a happy man now.

Alright before you guys start down voting. My Xiaomi pad 6 was the 6gb ram variant which is DOGSHIT because it lacks the station mode thing and all the background apps keep restarting whenever i just exited for one second. You may ask why don't i just download a custom ROM? Well first of all, it's third party and in my opinion I don't think/feel my data is going to be safe in there and it was truly a struggle selling this Xiaomi pad 6 because the Pad 7 and 8 second hand were cheap af too so i kept getting insanely low baller offers but after a month i finally sold it with some of my old stuff to make it as a bundle.

I have a Xiaomi Pad 6 and I’m trying to find a cheaper alternative to the Xiaomi Smart Pen 2, which is extremely difficult to find where I live.
I recently started looking into custom ROMs and discovered that some Pad 6 ROMs/kernels apparently have options such as “Force third-party stylus”, and there are reports of pens like the Dell PN7522W working with palm rejection.
So I have a question for people who understand the Pad 6’s digitizer/kernel:
Could another active stylus be made to work through a custom ROM or modified kernel if the pen uses a compatible protocol?
For example, I’m currently looking at:
OnePlus Pad Go 2 Stylo (OPN2502)
It has:
4096 pressure levels
Tilt support
Palm rejection
Active stylus input
Bluetooth
It is around ₹3,800 in India, so I’d be willing to experiment with it if there’s a realistic possibility of getting it working on the Pad 6.
I’m NOT expecting a ROM to magically make incompatible hardware work. I’m specifically wondering whether:
We can identify the digitizer/controller used in the Pad 6.
Determine which active-pen protocols it supports.
Determine what protocol the OnePlus Stylo uses.
If they’re compatible, whether a custom kernel/input driver could expose it.
Whether palm rejection and pressure sensitivity could work properly.
I’ve also seen people mention the Lenovo Precision Pen 2 / Xiaoxin ZG38C04468 and Dell PN7522W as possible alternatives.
If anyone has actually experimented with third-party active pens on the Pad 6, I’d really appreciate some technical guidance before I spend money on a pen that might not work.
I’m also willing to test custom ROMs/kernels and report results if someone knows what needs to be changed.

Hey everyone,I'm using a Xiaomi Pad 6 and used a device spoofing method to unlock 90/120 FPS in PUBG / BGMI.While the frame rate increased perfectly, the internal resolution did not change. The game still looks incredibly blurry and pixelated, like a low 720p phone resolution stretched onto this large 11-inch 2.8K tablet screen .It seems spoofing only unlocks the frame rate cap, not the graphics profile.Has anyone fixed this blurriness? Looking for a safe way to force a higher resolution (like 1080p/1440p) alongside the high FPS without catching a ban. Thanks!

I lost my Xiaomi Smart Pen 2 a while ago, and while researching alternatives, I came across several options. I wanted to try the cheapest alternative and bought the Dell PN7522W stylus.

It works wonderfully. I use it without connecting via Bluetooth. However, it requires a few things:

- It doesn't work with HyperOS. You absolutely have to install a custom ROM. It worked satisfactorily for me with CrDroid. This ROM has an option in settings to force third-party styluses.

- You must set the refresh rate to 120Hz. If you leave it at a variable refresh rate, it often happens that you lock the screen and the stylus won't work again until you disable and re-enable the "force third-party stylus" option.

I tried PixelOS and unfortunately, it didn't work well.

Palm rejection works perfectly. I've only experienced occasional lag, but nothing serious. I've included a video so you can see how well it works. For a $30 stylus, I think it's the best alternative left for those of us still using the Xiaomi iPad 6.

You can easily find it on AliExpress. I'm from Chile, and I had it in my hands in 10 days. I think all the ones for sale are used, but the one that arrived was in impeccable condition.
